Default Traction Roll

This past weekend I went racing in Flowood,Ms. It was first time to expierence an indoor high bite track. There was some decent straight always and I had a huge problem traction rolling. I ran the latest dun ford setup. What are some ways of stopping traction rolling? I liked my setup otherwise. The top guys running thus class really didn't have any trouble with rolling.

I would say if you are traction rolling in sweepers, then maybe you'd want to have more negative camber.

If you are rolling in a sharp 180 turn, then I'd try limiting droop. It is an adjustment that is rarely used in off road by many, but I've had success with it. The idea is that you transfer less weight to the outside wheels because your inside wheels lift less.

Whatever you do to fix the problem, let us know.

Tires has a lot to do with that. What tires and foams are you running? What were they running?

Dropping a mm or 2 of ride height front and rear will a lot of times solve traction rolling problems too.

Thanks for the replies guys. I was rolling in sweepers and at end of straits. Was running bar codes front and rear.

I doubt I will be on a high note track again in the near future...but I will store the info for future use

that seems to be the culprit... but i didnt think the outdrives would wear so quickly. Then they are assembled (lately) i find the pins to be a snug fit (they just dont drop out on their own)... i'm assuming the tolerences got tighter, but i'm finding them to wear quickly.

i ran the truck 60-70 times when i first got it before i found outdrive wear to be an issue.

Im pretty surprised about the reports on all this drive shaft wear and breakage. I haven't had a single problem since owning the truck.

Default Shock ?

just started to build my new kit, got to the shock build section. Has anyone had issue's with the shocks? The bottom of the shocks where the washer/ oring seal for shock shaft. I can't get the cap to tighten all the way down, any suggestions?

The first run of 2.0s had an issue with the shock bottom caps. They will need a little extra force to thread on properly, aka a pair of vise grips or similar. I'm a little surprised you would find a kit that was still an issue as I believe TLR fixed the issue.

Contact Horizon Hobbies and ask them to send you the correct replacement caps. They have some small bags with 4 caps in them. If the tech doesn't know what you are talking about, ask for someone else.
The first time I asked ( a few months ago), they sent me the standard shock kit bag and it had the same caps that don't fit. After reading in this thread I called again, (a month ago), and the tech knew about the problem and dropped the correct replacements in the mail.

The correct replacements screwed right on by hand, no tools required.

was just wondering I ran the 2.0 shocks on my 1.0 and liked it. I usually run on big 1/8 tracks

The taller towers are made for the 2.0 shocks. The 3.0 shocks are longer and would cause the same issues as running the 2.0 shocks with stock towers. Not enough up travel and too much down travel. Not to mention all that weight up high. The truck would end up handling like a tekno. :-)
