Well thats the thing about lipos or motors or whatever some people think this has more punch this does. You know so you just got to try so you just got to buy one and try it out . SPC have a good amount of reviews which i can agree with because i run one.

Proteks yea there to pricey to me for a 2s .

RiceP: Yea just buy one and see i liked both of them lipos note im not a Pro driver lol this coming from a regular joe club racer.

Hey guy's..I am getting another SCTE .2 built after a few months layoff from SC.I have a Tekin 4.5 550,but I am thinking there is a better Tekin motor choice out there..HD 4300,Pro 4 4600???Give me some ideas? I want something Tekin..
I don't like a lot of magnet drag,as I believe it creates more nose diving.

Thanks Tommy

I am running the 4300kv pro4 hd now and love the power. Was running the 4600 pro4 but it seemed to run a little warm and under powered for the weight. So I went to the tenshock 4000kv and 4600kv they ran cooler and more power but we're not very smooth. Now the 4300kv feels perfect as far as power and smoothness and also cool. But it is power hungry if you go with the 4300kv get some high mah lipos like 6500 or above IMO.

I'm running the 4300 HD in the SCTE and i definately dont need any more power. I'm dialed back to 60% on the controler for winter indoor and it still screams.

Believe it or not, most of the fast central Ohio guys have gone to a 2-pole setup, including the local pro, who whipps up on everyone. The 4300 HD seemed to have far too much power.

Since going to the Orion R10 Pro / Thunder Power Z3R-550 (4.5T) setup (the same setup many of the really fast guys use), I have increased my lap times considerably, as it lays the power down in a more smooth fashion.

Increasing lap times is a bad thing! We know what you meant.

I have stayed with the 4600kv short motor. The 4300 HD is a beast on the bottom end. You need to have a little more throttle control with that guy. But if you need the power it is there.

2 pole motors are good for large open tracks like outdoor 8th scale tracks. They will have a little less bottom and a little more top. There are different motors out there for different situations.

Yes, DECREASED my lap times. We make up for the bottom end by going down to a 12 pinion on tighter tracks. The "less-grunty" bottom end almost acts like "traction control" as you pin it and go, instead of having to feather it so much with your trigger finger.

In the BIG WRL race last weekend, that had 173 entries, three of the top trucks were running 2-poles (and ALL running SCTE 2.0s!).

Don't get me wrong, the 4-poles are great, but we may just be on to something here. We laughed at first, but when we saw every race being won by a 2-pole motor, we joined the club! More "usable" power, perhaps, and maybe a better power band for this specific application.

I used to have the Tekno, and since it is a much heaver vehicle, the 4300 HD was a good choice. But when I switched over to the SCTE 2.0, it seemed to have too much low-end grunt, so I had to baby the throttle too much, costing me time. And I even went down to 40% CL, too!

I was running the tenshock 4600kv motor and recently switched to the thunderpower 4.5t 550 sc motor. With the motor i am about 40 degrees cooler after a qualifier. The motor is way smoother in the bottom end. I also like the fact i can be harder in the throttle and not worry about spinning out. I too was a skeptic but so far i love the motor for tight indoor racing.

Why are you thinking about going to a 5200 ? Are you slower then the others you run with ? Just want more power ?

The 4600 is fast enough for sportsman, but I want to just to expert soon, and I don't think the 4600 is enough.
I have a 5200 ready to go in and was going to try it this week, but all this talk has me really confused.

The pro 4 4600 is a 4 pole 540 size motor. The pro 4 hd 4300 is a 550 size motor. So , even though they are going down in KV , they are going up in power by going to a larger rotor. Your motors , if i am not mistaken , are already 550 size motors , both with higher KV rating then the 4300. The 4300 in the highest KV Tekin offers in a 550 motor , so thats why they are choosing it. You should be making plenty of power with that tenshock 4600. Are you running the sensored version ? Try your 5200 and see if you can make a 10 min main , and see if your lap times drop significantly. Sometimes more power makes you a little slower. Often , lower KV motors are a bit smoother , and lead to better control. My experiences. Im sure others will correct anything i said wrong
