This is what I found so far for shims to use. Oddly enough they were meant for the SCTE, just for a different area. The drive shaft diameter is 5mm and the bearing area is up to around 12mm. I'm hoping these with do the trick to tighten up the play in the wheels.

How does everyone like this car out of the box? It seems a lot of guys change around the chassis, layout, etc. I am looking to get eithr a SCTE 2.0 or a SCT410. It seems to me there are a lot more option parts for the Losi.

Both are very capable vehicles. on the TLR there´s no real need to upgrade anything unless you want. I´ve been to at least 10 races, have ran around 100 practice packs (10-13 min) and the only thing I broke so far is a body post and I stripped the spur´s teeth once. The ball cups seem to be worn now, and I might tear down the whole thing when the season ends to see if some bearings need to be replaced.

the only thing I don´t like about this ride is the box setup (but both of Ryan and Casper´s later setups work fine) and Horizon Hobby Europe´s support (refused to replace my shock bottoms because I couldn´t find the sales receipt anymore).

On the other hand the Tekno seems pretty easygoing as well. I´d say you can´t go wrong.

Can anyone recommend a good sensor wire? feel like I need a new one every race day. I currently use the TQ wire but half way thru the race if I pump the throttle, it just cuts out. Any recommendations? Im running an RX8 with a 4600kv. I was thinking of trying the orion r10 but I kinda like the rx8 in my truck.

Is one much faster than the other in the corners? It seemed to me there are a couple different chassis with different layouts. Are these out there due to necessity?

The SCTE 1.0 was basically an Electric SCT conversion for the 10-T platform. As the class grew further developement went into the platform and due to class leading performance many other companies started to produce aftermarket parts as well as Losi/TLR.

MIP came out with what we will call a rear motor chassis configuration but what was little known was TLR was testing this same idea around the same time (both companies were at the track testing at the same night!) MIP being a smaller company was much more nimble and released their chassis first. TLR on the other hand worked to fix a lot of the other little bugs in the 10-T platform as that truck was not designed with the intent for racing so some details racers expect to be taken care of neede a little more attetion. The designers at TLR were given the green light to over haul the SCTE with all the racing experience we gained from the 1.0 and the 2.0 was born with a revised chassis layout and many other tweaks to the system.

Now based off all of this there were a few chassis manufactures that released just aftermarket chassis for the 1.0 as the stock chassis left something to be desired for racing. Also understand the SCTE 1.0 was released as a prebuilt truck. TLR and other companies sold upgrade chassis for the 1.0. Some had little tweaks like the KH chassis that rotated the center diff, but most were just 7075 lightend chassis similar to the TLR flex tuned chassis. The 2.0 however comes with this style of chassis. Companies are still making aftermarket chassis for these cars as people are always looking for hopups to make there cars stand out but the 2.0 comes with everything the racer would want to get in a box. There are a few other hopups you could put on the truck if you wish but all in all the 2.0 is truely race ready out of the box.

Probably a little more then what you were asking and may or may not have fully answered your question but thought I would throw this out there!

I have been racing mine for the past 4 months pretty consistently.
Running the dunford July setup, and its nice.
I race with a buddy who has a Tekno, and his truck turns MUCH MUCH faster/easier than mine.
Any suggestions?
I thought it might be a servo issue, but I over volted my Savox SC-1258TG from 6.0v to 7.4 with my rx8 and still didn't help it turn faster in the S turns.

Ideas/suggestions?

Are you sure your radio is setup right? I have the same servo and mine turns in the blink of an eye. My radio can turn the servo speed up and down among many other things.
