What we are trying to do is overcome a shortcoming with the steering geometry. Typically, a vehicle has bumpsteer, but it typically means that as the suspension goes up, the wheel will steer out. Then you can adjust to go as far as keeping the wheel straight on most cars.

With the SCTE, the bump is IN, which is not good. What these changes do is make it so it stays straight.

For the 2mm spacing take one of the squares from a diff, its exactly 2mm just drill the hole a little bit with a hand drill so that the screw fits in.

I'm new to the LSR SCTE 2.0, high-end RC cars for that matter, and have a few quick questions on the setup. I'm currently building the kit and I'm going to use leftover electronics from my son's Redcat car. The motor is a 3750KV, so it's a bit underpowered compared to what most of you are running, and that may be just fine to start off with. I'm thinking the pinion is going to have to be something along the lines of a 13T or less. I'm wanting to order them today or tomorrow and I was thinking of getting maybe 12T, 13T, and 14T. Does that sound about right for this motor? We will be racing on an indoor clay track that is medium size tight track with some big jumps. I plan to run Proline Suburbs or possibly Gladiators or Calibers (medium). Thoughts?

It uses mod1 pinions? More along 15-16.
Try it but make yourself a favor and get some electronics better suited for this like the Hobbywing 4000kv combo.

If Suburbs work at your track then the Gladiators and Calibers probably won't be so swell. They are both outdoor, rough, loose track tires. Try a Panther Rattler in clay or a JConcepts Pressure Point in soft or super soft. Can you sauce the tires? If you can, a good diesel bath the first time and then pretty much any decent tire sauce will make a big difference. I've had good luck saucing just the inside half of the tires on my SCTE as well. Adds some traction but keeps the traction rolling in the corners down. Hope this helps.
