The new layout looks similar to my mip which I love so I'm sure it will be awesome out of the box. Any ideas when it will be available I might pick one up so I can compare the 2.

By the looks of the video I just watched the Bumper is the 22SCT Bumper. And the nerf bars are from the 22SCT. The shocks look like 2.0 Buggy shocks. Towers look MIP. Looks like the same CVD's and center shafts. I can't tell tho. I need to get one in my hands to see better!!! Looks like it will be here just in time for Summer in the Northeast!!!

It'll be nice to buy one kit and be good instead of having to buy all the upgrades separately, disassemble everything, then put it back together. I'm glad I waited on buying a refresh.

Mud guards and nerf bars are patterned after the angled 22SCT nerf bars

Comes with hardened outdrives and looks like the same drives and axles.

Now introducing the SCTE with the tuning kit pre-installed, two full sets of wheels, no more butter aluminum chassis, and some other minor tweaks; all yours for a price of $470!

Losi now has the most expensive 2WD and 4WD SCT kits available to my knowledge.

It's comparably priced to the Tekno when you keep in mind that you get two sets of wheels and a body as well.

First off with all the talk on the old thread it has been torture keeping quite. This truck will be awesome. I have not driven the full new layout yet but will tonight. We have been testing different components of this update for a while now with outstanding results.

Mine ready to hit the track was 6.2lbs. I added titanium tie rods, alum rear hubs and titanium kingpins and alum nuts to my car. The 1.0 was close to 6.8 lbs ready to hit the track.

Drive axles are the same but the kit comes with the HD outdrives. Other then front drive shaft wear the rest of my drive shafts lasted me a season easy. New center diff location means the angle from the front to center diff is reduced which should help with some wear.

TLR was testing this idea the same time MIP was. Yes the layouts are now similar but this was not a copy. To get all the updates in the kit and all the little things updated that Ryan knew needed to be tweaked like the diff cases it took a while to get this released.

Same SCTE rear bumper. We will have to cut the bumper. Not hard to do.

Same bumpers as the SCTE but latest generation rear bumper is used. It is beefy. Nerfs are specific for the SCTE 2.0 but similar to design of the 22SCT. HA SCTE shocks with tini shock shafts and alum bleeder caps. Same SCTE towers with extra camber holes added and a new upper shock mount hole front and rear.

I have been racing,running or bashing R/C cars since 1990 or so,Breaking arms,hubs,spindles,carriers is a constant pain and expense.I may have broke a couple arms in two years but never any other part of the suspension.= Saving money and lots of it!By far the most durable R/C I have ever owned.I have gone thru 2 front drive shafts and one rear and gone thru all the wheel axles and bone x2 in two years.So tell me if I am not buying suspension parts that leaves $extra coin to throw at replacements drive parts or $ to upgrade to the Tekno shafts.Not an issue for Me!!!! I cant Judge the San Diego truck until I have driven one but holding One in My hands I was not that impressed!!!!!This thread is gonna be like a 9 volt battery for a while half positive and half negative :lol::lol: At least till the Haters move on . Just cuz the diff and battery are moved back does not make this an MIP.This new chassis is narrower and more stream line looking!!!I would imagine the aftermarket chassis guys are already warming up those Cad Cams :lol::lol:Cheers!!!

Wheels tires and a body? Those are consumables. Plus, anyone that buys this already has a grip of wheels and tires.

The Tekno is leaps and bounds better than this thing, for less money.


They should have taken all the old 8ight 2.0s and converted them, reboxed and sold. That would be worth 469. Instead, they blew the 8ights out for 299, and bolted a TLR kit onto a first gen truck and added 100 bucks to the price. You can almost build this truck out of a first gen truck for less than this thing costs. And if you have been running a stock chassis non TLR kit for the last year, you are 230 bucks away from this thing with the truck you already have, or 175 bucks away from an MIP kit that will still crush this thing. But to ditch a first gen truck completely, just to pay 469 for an upgraded version of what you already have... I don't see it happening much.

Not trying to be a hater, just disappointed is all. Good thing all the dudes that waited for this to come out can just buy a Tekno instead....
