charlesandstuff, if you can't stay below 200 with one of those pinions there is something wrong. What conditions are you running under? Beach sand? High bite clay? Hill climbing (heheheh)? Lots of wheel spin = high motor temps. Lots of full throttle = high motor temps. Lots of drag = high everything temps. Let us know what's going on and maybe we can throw some ideas at you.
The track is hard packed and with light dust in the groove. Its for racing only. I didnt want to have to go buy a motor fan but it might be my only option..

What are your settings like in your R10pro.? I would almost guarantee you have to much boost or turbo or something along those lines. Also, absolutely nothing against tekin, but I have heard their 2 poles leave a little to be desired.. Especially a 5.5, but take that with a grain of salt as I have not ran Tekin's 2-pole motors.
I currently run a R10pro with a Thunder Power 550 4.5t motor geared at 13/40 with some boost and turbo in the esc. Esc w/fan comes off around 100* and motor never more than 150 after an 8 min main.

Are there any updates on testing 2 hole pistons with the new setup? I was wondering what it would be like if you tried the 2 hole pistons with 27.5fr and 25r. Just thinking about it, and it seems as tho that would make it a touch softer for cornering, but still have more pack than a 4 hole? I could be completely wrong, just thinking out loud.

We have actually been playing with a lot of stuff lately, lol. I should have more over the next week or two about what we are trying. As far as the 2 hole, we are on 3 and 4 hole right now. Liking the 4 hole with 32/25 right now with black/silver springs...but its going into summer.

Good to hear. Just got rid of my MIP scte and building the 2.0 tonight. With the 4 hole 32/25, is that still with #3 pistons all the way around?
Also, a friend and I have been trying a 3 hole piston as well.. Only ones I can find are Associated ones. Are those what you have/are trying or making your own? They were incredible on cornering, but had a TON of roll in turns... Liked it to a point, but was really weird feeling overall.

My r10pro settings are.. drag brake 0%, ddrs start mode level 7, max brake 75% min 25%, 0 degrees of timing and boost rpm and boost timing is greyed out.

Hmm.. Only other thing I can think of, because this happened to me last weekend, is to redo ALL the wires on the esc. I had a couple sketchy wires somewhere along the line and caused the motor to rocket to 190* after 2 laps. It also had a serious lack of power. I put all new wires on from esc to motor and esc to batt and went out in the main and it was fine...

That may be part of the issue...with 2 pole motors these days, it is best to gear it low and turn up the timing and boost to keep up with the 4 pole motors out there. Gear it around a 12t, turn up the timing and boost.

Going ? LOL ..Ran last week end it was 102 out side, the glued up 22 pistons with 30 all around felt like a snow mobile on water Would love to hear some HOT shock options if you know what I mean.If you run the Panther Race at IERC this week end I`M sure you will run into heat!!!Threw the shocks off the 1.0 on orange,blk,3.4. piston deal with fresh 30 wt and the truck started to really work after dropping the rd. ht. to 24-25 all around.Hot weather at Peg for awhile now will have to come up with something..Cheers!!

Protek makes great bullet plugs. Get the 7000mah 100c stick packs, they also come with 5mm bullet plugs. They got a sale this independence day so you can save some $$$. http://www.amainhobbies.com/press_release.php/pr_id/160

Default Just ordered kit

Hi,

I have ordered the kit with Tekin RX-8 Gen 2/Pro 4 HD 4300 drive. I have also ordered;
1. King Headz motor mount SCTE 036
2. King Headz centerdiff front upright SCTE 035
3. Hot Racing Alu front caster blocks SCTE 1901
4. Hot Racing Alu front steering knuckles SCTE 2101

Please let me know if any of you have used this on a 2.0 and what your thoughts are on each of it?

I am new to the game but it made sense. Many thanks
