flysky gt3b
Hello, I am new to rc and have a question.
Will the flysky gt3b or something like it work in a Traxxas truck?
My son has a couple of traxxas trucks but I want to convert them all to one controller.
thanks a lot!
here is the flysky gt3b :

yes it will, but remember you're buying a $40 dollar radio and subsequently you'll be getting a $40 radio.
I read more threads than I don't on multiple sites with people that have issues with these...(mainly receivers)
I know a of a few who have had zero issues too, but I know a lot more than that spend the money...then buy something else shortly down the road.
look at an entry level futaba or airtronics man

Yeah, heard good & bad about it on forums. Ran into a hand full of guys at outdoor tracks without large attendance and they love them.
I think that if you are going to run indoor with a number of stronger high $$$ radios, you may have a problem.
If you are just bashing at home or even in an outdoor setting and don't have 10+ top end radios running at once you may be ok.
But a little more money goes a long way in radios.
$130 for example gets a Airtronics which has always been my favorite radio. KO and others make reasonably priced radios as well that have great glitch free reception.
Example 1, anyone else?

hi , i have been using the gt3b for almost 3 years now , for the $40 you spend they are great . i haven't really tried the high end radio's so can't compare . in those years i have had aproxx 5 or 6 recievers die (i usaully have about 3 runners ) they suddenly get glitchy at which point you turf them and chuck in a new $8 receiver . as i'am now getting a little more serious with my racing i hopeto buy an mt4 this year . fellow racers tell me when they upgraded to top end radio lap times dropped maybe a second a lap consistently which at my local track is about 11 secs per heat which would give me the track record for the class i run

lol at dropping a second with a radio change. The gt3b is fine. My 7 year old races with one. The main issue for me is the receivers and trigger. The receivers die, but they are cheap. And the trigger is fixable and probably better than ever. I had to fix my kids trigger this week, after 6 months of use.

that would be a lie. They dont die every other week. I have 3 receivers, 1 died in 7 months of racing weekly. The one that glitched had a lot of rocks in the bottom. It might still be good, after i removed the rocks. I would suggest plugging the empty slots on any receiver to buy.

if i were you i would wait and buy the airtronics mx-v or a mt-4 used off of ebay, way better radio i drive way better with a better radio, so that is my next purchase the mt-4 and i will be keeping my flysky as a fun car radioand keep it away from the track

the only issue with the FLYSKY GTB is the delay. IT IS NOTICEABLE!!!! there is a very fast guy that races with us weekly and he uses it. No issues other than the lag but he is used to it. No complaints from the spektrum users at the track either. For the cost it is what it is and receivers are 10 bucks. If you are crunched for cash it will get you in the game.

the airtronics receivers are $40+ used, so the cost of 4+ receivers might kill his budget.
On that same note, the Chinese
make receivers for the DSM2 Spektrums for $9. I dont like spectrums, but if you can find a radio cheap, you can get the "Orange" receivers for about $9 each. I have heard people say they work well. I have never used them.

My flysky was hacked, so I notice no real delay.
