Default best option?

Hey all,

I am planning on buying my second losi scte.
Should i buy a used one race ready with rx 8, pro 4 and king head chassis?
Or should i get a new kit and build one myself?

The used one would cost me $675.00

Let me know

Personally, too much for a used roller and motor. RX8 used, ok... it either works or doesn't. The motor can be tired though.

Food for thought...

Why get another kit that you already have?

Look into the tekno or caster rapture SCT conversion trucks? Just a little more $ than the scte roller.

If it's for racing there are much better 4wd sct out there . IMO 675$ used is way too much unless it comes with super high end electronics, charger, lipos etc..

Like pulse said, scte's are not really top dog any more... why get a second one? There are rumors of a new scte out there as well... why buy another truck that may be outdated in a few months?

Buggy? Yeah, get another class going... 2wd or 4wd 1/10 buggy or a 1/8 buggy.

Pulse is right on point saying that if it came with lipo's and a charger it may be worth $675... but I would pass on that deal.

Check out the tekno and rapture truck threads on this site if you haven't already... that's what I would spend my money on. Or the Mugen SCT once it's released.

Does it have the TLR kit installed? That's still a bit much.

Be careful listening to some of the posters on this thread. You might die of old age waiting for a Mugen SCT that never comes out. The Tekno SCT? Neither is out and these guys are already crowning them champions. It's laughable. Always beware of brand new trucks. They usually have tons of issues out of the gate. Just ask the EB48 owners.

Really? Since when did the SCTE not make the cut anymore?

Wow, I better sell mine right away since it's not the latest and greatest anymore.

^^^^^^^That were all fixed within the first month. Compare that to how it took losi almost 3 years to get their diffs right.

Never said the scte is old and should be put out to pasture... but if you have driven a conversion you would agree with my post.

It's not the flavor of the month, its a progression.

If I felt the scte was faster, I would drive it. I don't... just my two cents on the subject. If I were in the market to but a kit right now, it would not be a 3+ year old design that is due to be re-tooled. I'm not in the market, I recently converted my old MBX-5 that's been collecting dust for the past 8 years.

For about $50 or so more you can get a very durable kit, the rapture is out now... no waiting. Tired of breaking at the track... get a conversion

Well, technically I am driving a conversion. I have the TLR kit with aluminum Bump chassis. It's fast and drives great on any surface. While I haven't driven a conversion, like MIP, I have yet to be taken to the cleaners by one on the track.

"Progression" is a fine argument, but not every "innovation" ends up being a good one. Just ask the SC10 4x4 drivers about that.

Ha ha! Yeah, I have one of those for sale
Scte is a watered down 1/8 anyway, why not just go all the way and have an indestructible rig?

My scte pretty much is indestructible. Only thing I have ever broken is bumpers. But I guess if you don't know how to drive you will break stuff. No matter what "conversion" you drive.
