We want to commend Greg Hodapp for a great performance at the Losi Race. Greg had final exams at school lasting until almost 10 PM Thursday night. He left LA at 6:30 AM pacific time Friday morning, arriving at the track shortly after H-2 of 4WD was over.
Track maintenance meant there was no practice Friday evening, so Greg saw the trrack for the first time Saturday morning and got one pack of practice in all three cars. Greg was still learning the track as round 3 of qualifying got under way. He made the B in buggy and put the X - 5 in the 4wd A, demonstrating what real talent can do.
Greg had run a total of four packs in the X - 5 when A-1 started and still improved from 10th on the grid to 7th. He changed set-up Saturday night, and again between each main and still took 7th in each main. After A-3 he said, "I'm starting to get it dialed in now, when does qualifying start?"
I think it took guts for Greg even to come to the Losi Race. There was almost no chance to win, and every chance to look bad. Thanks, Greg. for doing a great job, working hard to make the best showing possible with no practice.
