Noob 2wd buggy question
Hey guys,
My experience with R/C is somewhat limited (Rustler and TC4), I was looking at getting an inexpensive buggy to cut my teeth on and decide whether or not I am interested in racing with them. So far I have seen that the Arrma ADX-10 and the Thunder Tiger Pheonix BX II appear to be in the sub-200 range and I have a spare 17.5T brushless setup and receiver to swap in (So that I am not running a stock RTR... not that there's anythign wrong with that). Are either of these worth my money or am I better served finding a good but used rolling chassis instead?

I would recommend sticking with something that has local parts support and locals who are running the buggy so you have someone to go to if you are having trouble with something.

a good used roller will get you further. those buggys are rare in these parts. dont know about part support and havnt heard of anybody winning anything with them.
pick up a b4.1 and that should get you going, lots of used ones out there. plus you can trick it out later if your into it. it is a very neutral car, good for learning but very capeable of winning even the biggest races.
p.s. part support is execelent

Rather than buy a new, lesser quality kit, I would recommend buying a used top quality kit for the same price. There are quite a few used Kyosho RB5s on the market right now. Still a fantastic car. Here's a good example:

In my part of town parts support is great for a the losi 22 and the associated b4 buggies. And as these are both platforms that grow with you. I would look for a roller and put that 17.5 in it instead of getting a 'meh' RTR on the cheap... which you would be paying for electronics in it that you would not want anyway.
