Questions?? Team Durango DEX410 Spur and Pinion recommendations

Hi All,

I have a Team Durango DEX410 and I am after a Spur and Pinion recommendation to run with a Hobbywing Xtreme Stock 60 Amp and XERUN Series Sensored Brushless Motor 17.5 (1900kv).

I have been running 8.5 and 6.5, but want to run Stock (blinky) and learn to drive a bit better....

All help appreciated...

Thanks

General Rul of Thumb for Running Stock is to start with an FDR or 6 and work your way down until your motor temps are stable and you find a nice balance between top end and acceleration

This is what I learned from the RC Handbook and this has never steered me wrong.

http://www.petitrc.com/reglages/RC_HandbookV3-4.pdf

You have to remember the further you go down the faster your top end but the lower your acceleration.

I also just obtained a DEX410 and will be running a Trinity D3 17.5T motor with the same ESC you are.

Im aiming to run a 69T Spur with a 26t Pinion.

This gives an FDR of 6.55, which I will use for testing and feeling the car out.

I also have a 27t and a 29t if the motor is coming off dead cold.

The 29t with the 69t Spur is probably going to be the sweet spot.

I have a feeling 69t spur will be too small for the you to mesh with the pinion. I went straight to the 75/30 range after trying to fit the 69 spur.

Hi Alex, Yes, 69 is too small. Need High 30 tooth count on the pinion to get it to contact as far as I can see.

Cheers
