Im highly against setup stations. You can setup your car perfectly with one, then set your car down, and if you put it right back in everything will be off.
Yea I basically try to get camber and toe and all that stuff close with basic cheap tools and eyeballing, then use the calipers to make sure the links and everything are the same on each side. Then just sort of make adjustments adhoc by feel. I don't quite understand all the physics enough to be precise anyway and normally pull a setup off the web and try to drive the truck as is unless there is something really standing out as an issue.

Is the taper up or down on the tekno 8x1.3 pistons ? And in the kit it comes with 450 oil I'm running a dusty low traction track with stock springs any suggestions on shock oil ? I was going to go with 37.5 front 35 rear . Sound good ?

I'm going to try kyosho Orange fronts yellow rears with the 8 x 1.3 pistons on a large outdoor red clay track, any suggestions on oil (AE)? There is a nasty whoops section that can make or break your lap time so I'm thinking lighter and softer to let the shocks work their way though them vs. bouncing all over the place.

I would say 32.5 Front and maybe 30 Rear. I run 32.5 F & R

Just opened the box and wondering what direction to go on pistons. Picked up Tekno 8x1.3 but wondering if there's going to be enough pack in them for a smooth high bite indoor that usually has at least one big jump (big for indoor). For the SoCal guys, WCRC & OCRC.

Start with kit pistons? Or build with the 8x1.3's?

Also shims for the addendum included or the notch has been machined correctly and the shims are not needed on the newer kits?

My Mugen is going to get raped for its Ti screws top to bottom

The pistons go in with the open side toward the top.

8x1.3's will have more pack than the stock 10x1.2's so I would build with the 8x1.3's. If your kit doesnt have the shims and addendum included then dont worry about it.

I also made the switch to this truck after running my SC converted RC8.2e for the past year. Currently running stock pistons but only been to the track twice with it so still getting used to it's characteristics. I like it so far and it turns better but just not as comfortable with it as I am with my old truck. More time behind the wheel needed.

I was running the 10x1.2 (stock) pistons at WCRC until they put in that huge triple. My truck was nose diving no matter how I approached the jump. I had to double, single it. I switched to the 8x1.3 pistons and it's never jumped better! Now I have no problem clearing the triple and it rarely nose dives.

OH snap boys.. I now have everything I need to take 1st lol! Just got my shirt done up courtesy of JPnitro!

But to keep things forum based.. I must say those guides gave me tons of info, thanks again @BernardJR and the gang I feel like I've gained knowledge, the key will be applying it out there on the track.. Time to tear down and clean her up though, my Steel spur (and composite) just came in along with some new springs and pinions..

From what it sounds like from everyone I'm glad I got the pistons up front to build with.
