Danny at SMC likes the ec5 or deans best but most including me run bullets. He talked about it a few times in the SMC thread.
If you decide bullets, get Danny's bullets. The fit better than non smc bullets. The packs tubes are really tight on most other bullets.

Tune the car properly...

The weight bias is THE biggest reason I bought this chassis.

If you desire a chassis with improper weight bias, they are not hard to find.

Unless you are going to be racing at the national level, there's no big difference in fact and I believe Danny has said this too, inboard are not great for big off-road tracks because of dirt getting in and connections loosening, etc... Plus maintenance of bullets is higher IMO, the diff in resistance would be impossible for u to tell unless ur a pro... Maybe

Can we petition for removal of the battery mod section from page 1 and replace with top 3 ways to tune car to stop nose down, its a shame that some new guys may think its a "must" because its on the first page and will hack up a beautiful Tekno before asking the forum for advice

Some like it, some don't.
I drove my truck with the pack in stock location and slid back. I like it better slid back, just fits my driving style better.
I never had an issue with nose down from the very first lap but I built it with 8x1.3 pistons.

I've run both and they both work fine. I recently got a battery that was only available with a deans or traxxas connector. So now I use a bullet to deans adapter on my Sting battery. I use the longer bullets and you definitely DON'T want to use the cage style in your 4x4.

The only drawback is that I tape the Deans together to make sure they don't come apart. The carried over from E-Buggy. They never came apart in the SC but I never gave them a choice either.

I was thinking of giving the 1.3's a try. What oils are you using?

40/35 but I'm still tuning. Going to try 40/32.5 & 37.5/32.5 this weekend.
Smooth indoor.

Has anyone raced on a outdoor track that had soiltac mixed in? I will be at one next weekend and it will be the first outside 1/8th track I have raced at. Looking for any tips for the sct410 and eb48.2.

Thanks, I shouldn't be too far off then. Most of the tracks down here are smooth. I was going to start with 35/30 since it'll be a hair stiffer than what I'm running now.

That's where I started and went up from there. Felt better, now I'm moving down to find my happy place.
