Default 1/10th off road new for 2013?

Hey all: With 2013 being an IFMAR 10th buggy worlds year what can we expect from all the brands in the new year? Also it seems to me that cnc milled anodized aluminum chassis are all the rage in 10th 2wd buggy/truck classes these days so can we expect AE ,Tamiya and others to follow in 2013? Thanks

I bet associated will release an updated version of the b4 using the big bores, new aluminum steering rack, and hexes with a few other bits about as relevant as bold new graphics... Hard to say if they are going to do more. Although I would definitely like to see an aluminum chassis for the b4, a lot of people don't like the idea because plastic tends to do better in really low grip conditions. I'm sure with all the other manufactures using aluminum chassis, associated has tested them. It will be interesting to see what they do. They might do nothing "if it aint broke"....

I wouldn't expect much from the others as they have just came out with relatively new buggies (durango, losi, kyosho), although it would be nice to see something new from Tamiya... not that I would shell out the dough for it Maybe just some updated parts to get them dialed.

the whole aluminum chassis thing I am still wondering if it will be a fad or actually stick this time. Durango just came out with composite +8 chassis. I wonder if they are going away from the alloy ones?

Maybe we will see some different length chassis' for the TLR 22 and maybe even a composite one to silence the naysayers about the aluminum chassis.

I don't see too many changes left out there, perhaps a TLR 4WD buggy.
Otherwise all the current platforms have upgraded in the last year or two.
In capable hands ANY of the vehicles out there can win races, yes, even the "OLD" B4.1!

I think the big manufacturers were on the ball and got upgrades done quickly so they didn't have to "scramble" to make worlds with a new untested platform! Good plan IMHO!

what are we going to see??... prices go up! Strangely i'm okay with it tho because the more expensive kits don't need the extra parts that usually comes along with purchasing a kit. I'd also be wiling to bet money that AE comes out with a new chassis. I happen to agree with "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" but .... new is nice! I'd be watching for a new ae with the fact that Kyosho and losi make associated stuff look like relics because they are still plastic and now have the oldest base design by quite some time.

I agree but I also just saw a local sponsored AE guy who hardly ever races or even practices spank all the local guys last weekend with his "old" B4.1, it wasn't even close! But he has ALWAYS been crazy fast! Like I said earlier in "capable hands"...

Pretty much everybody has switched to 22's locally, but theres a few Kyoshos and associated buggies around though!

IDK if I am alone but I always was really impressed with the Hot Bodies D4, it was a sad day when they discontinued it... But I say the same about the XX-4 as well... Those were great buggies!

I still wonder if Hot Bodies is ever going to come out with any new 1/10th scale cars? Their 1/8th scales are great!
