For ESC I have the HW 120 V2.1 but it sits real close to the body.

As for the 12* Casters go back a page or two and we talked about them. Some like them to help slow down the steering, but I like my steering aggressive and tight so went back to the 9* stock hubs

Well I made it to step 4 today and called it quits there. Step 5 the steering looked a little challenging so I figured I better start there when I'm fresh. So far the manual has been great and the fit has been awesome. The rear hubs were a little snug and I probably should have sanded them down a little. I figured they will break in within a few packs. If they still feel tight after a few packs I will sand them down a little. This buggy is gonna be a breeze to maintain. For me, before purchasing a xray I read about how great it handled and how durable it was. The ease of maintenance is going to be what I talk about the most, I think. Adjustments are gonna be a breeze w/ the f/r hinge pin blocks. So far I am very satisfied with the build and the manual.

Slapjack.. I really like how the 4dot Front and 3dot rears feel and run 40wt Losi oil Front and 35wt Losi oil Rear with 2x1.6/1.1 pistons front and rear.
With regular 2x1.6 pistons I liked 37.5 front and 30 rear

I run the avid 2+2 pistons aswell and they are a MUST have option for the xb4. One of the best upgrades/chnages i ever made to the car. I also have ran 1.6 and 1.7 which are great too just not as goood as 2+2 for me.

Thanks for the input guys. Now I'm assuming I'll have to search around for the 2+2 pistons. I haven't looked yet but I'm sure they are probably out of stock at Amain. Are the schelle 1.6+1.1
Pistons basically the same as avids?

Wouldn't the stock springs given me more grip over the ones you recommended? The ones you recommended would be stiffer correct? Or does that even out cause I'm using different pistons? Remember I am running on med grip clay.

Avid and Schelles are the same. The spring depends on the track you should be ok with the stock rear but if it is rolling around a lot on the rear then step up one.

Thanks.

My next question is about tires. I have a bunch of dirt web and chainlink rears. Then I have a set of JC 60mm front wheels. What tires should I try on he front? I have some front dirt webs but want another set to have in my bag also. Any recommendations? Oh are the 2.4 and 60mm the same? My front wheels are 60mm but most tires say 2.4" will they work together?

IMO... the stock spring felt soft and chassis slap. When I bought my 16 I ordered 1 dot stiffer for Front and Rear. In the end the 4dot anf 3dot felt best for my track and driving style.

I built my XB4 with an initial setup I found on Petit RC database and then fine tuned it from there

Either of those fronts are good. I would suggest staying with 2.4 and you need to match to tire to the wheel. The 60mm wheel has a mounting bead like 1/8th scale tires so you can cut 2.4 tires to work but it would be a bit of a pain. 60mm was a fad that seems to be disappearing now. Proline doesn't make 60mm wheels or tires anymore, not sure about the other manufacturers

I gotta paint the the body and put the servo/mount in. I got the floating servo mount coming in the mail today. I gotta shorten the wires for the esc/motor and set camber/toe and I'm done. I'm very impressed w/ the build/manual(12 hours so far including cutting body/wing). I'm starting w/ a gear diff(500k) but tried to build the slipper w/ no luck. So the slipper was the only thing I had a problem with, I just couldn't figure out how it goes together. No racing for me till at least Sunday and maybe even Jan. 6th so I guess I'll practice one day this week/next week if time allows. I run on clay so I used the base clay set up except I used 1.6f and 1.7 rear schelle pistons and 8f and 7r for diff fluid. I got a new/good outlook on 4wd again thanks to the xb4!

Jconcepts is discontinuing their 60mm wheels too leaving AKA with their EVO stuff. Run your 60mm setup hard and then pick up some 2.2s next time.

ive noticed a number of setup such as Bruno's Warsaw setup where the front pills are facing down lowering front roll center but camber link is down on the tower raising it. Why two opposite adjustments at the same point? See some vice versa also. Seems like the two in theory would cancel eachother out? Trying to figure this out before putting in a setup before putting the buggy on the rack
