i have gone straight to dremeling screws i can't get out recently. i tried so many other things, ez outs, etc... after a bunch of trial and error, the dremeling has become my first attempt...after the hex drivers of course. good luck!

bill77 - i doubt it as of now. gaithersburg is a bit far for me. i have been to mimi's once, and loved it. but that 1 time is my only experience on clay. i will almost definitely be there sometime throughout the winter.

Best alternative is to get a '15 spec slipper setup (2 pad) and drill out an Associated 69T spur to fit. Opens up your gearing choices. With a 75T spur, you can only fit up to a 33T pinion.

For anyone's interest regarding 17.5 in a 4WD buggy. At the recent New South Wales, Australian state titles, the fastest 17.5 drivers race times would have made A main in modified.
thanks mate . car arrived today . now to build it and keep it hidden thill xmas ...

Can someone tell me what parts I need to install the center diff in 2016 xb4. The one on Amain says that it is only for the 2015 xb4 o im slightly confused. I run on clay and carpet.
Is it worth putting in?

Drops right in a 2016. Just get an assortment of diff oils. I started with 300K.

So picked up one of these to try and even with a "carpet setup" it felt already pretty driveable on clay (medium grip: OCRC).

I'd like to try it with the center slipper that it came with for a while. It came with 7k front and rear. I've seen setups for OCRC with 8k front and rear.

Assuming I can readily find 8k oil (and given the different brands, who knows what the difference is), what will the difference be going from 7k to 8k?

Also what lubricant do people put on the metal gears from the gear diffs to the drive shaft gears?

From 7 to 8k is probably not gonna be noticeable, but should calm down the car if it feels a bit edgy. The xray cars come supplied with some hudy graphite grease that works very well, I'd recommend using it but normal black grease will do...

Need more info of your track

indoor/outdoor?
smooth/bumpy?

I run a low/med outdoor bumpy clay track.

Currently stock springs, 32.5 all around (only doing this as the previous guy did this).

On a previous 4wd buggy on high traction carpet I was running 60/50wt on the hardest springs for that brand. Hope this helps.
