I've had the motor screws come loose twice. Must be those pancake landings.
Suggest loctite on those.

This is the first kit I have ever built (and I have built too many) that purposely does not include a cap for the antenna tube.

I'd love to hear the engineering/bean-counter discussion on that one!

What do you need one for? Antennas are increasingly shorter and shorter I just bought a new micro rx for my 4PL that has the antenna inside the rx. I haven't had an antenna stick out of any of my cars in 2 years.

Save on cost I would imagine.

Fortunately, the internal satellite gears stripped which probably kept it from doing more damage. Luck would have it, the hobby shop had NT1 composite gears in stock so I bought all three sets the had just to be safe. They are a direct fit.

I have noticed that the it seems the gears are absorbing the diff oil. My diffs don't leak, but when I have checked them they are nearly empty! No oil residue within the diff housing, so I am assuming the gears are some how absorbing a lot of the oil.

So, you are saying that we should marinate our diff gears in oil first?

Easy to test. Use a digi scale, weigh the dried out gear from an old diff. Then weigh the brand new one which will come with the upgrade v2 parts.

Hope the upgrade-package will arrive this week, then we can measure.

Untill now the diffs hold up very well and run extremely smooth

The bone seems fine, dont think there was anything wrong with the travel, the dff case and diff is disassembled so cant really see it.. Not my day at the track so yes, had a couple of bad tumbles.

I have spoken to a couple of XB4 owners who also had broken outdrives, but I think that was on the rear of the car.
One of them blamed too much uptravel.

I dont know, but I see that Martin Bayer used 2mm washer + o-ring on the damper shaft on his latest setup (DHI race in Denmark). Maybe he was worried about the same thing?

I checked my driveshafts and they have small scuffings from the outdrives, so I guess I`ve been pretty close myself. I think I`ll add an extra o-ring on the damper shafts.

Default the xb4 is for real.....

ive been racing a cat sx3, and a b44.2, and my track record was 19.00, but last night i raced my xb4 with the same tires and electronics and i turned a 18.6 during the race and my top 5 average laps were 18.7 and i didnt break the harder i pushed the xray the better it stuck....

the xb4 is super nice...

ill tear my diff apart and see if the permatex 2 stopped them from leaking and let you guys know.

has anyone tried any o rings on the shock caps to keep them from leaking and if so which ones fit good.

I had the same experience with my xb4. Literally cut my lap times from my Dex by about .5 second by the time I ran a second pack through the car. Freaking amazing. The car is so easy to drive it is scary.

I just put a little black grease on the shock body threads and I haven't had any further leaking.

Another glowing review. THe schumacher I had was fast but too difficult to keep running with all those belts and bearings and not knowing what went wrong. The xb4 on first outing was like WOW this is a shrunken down ebuggy .
