I use the tlr aluminum servo horn and it works prefect with the new spectrum shorty servo and floating servo mount. here is a link to it at amain, http://www.amainhobbies.com/rc-cars-...lr1557/p203507

the steering is just crazy on this buggy and I havent noticed a change from the stock plastic to the tlr one

Racers Edge aluminum servo horns work excellent,

BugleBoy racing. Works on older XB4's and the new 16. Slight mod is needed.
Either cut the back half off or sand the counter sunk screw hole flanges off the mounting side. I use the BBoy inconjuction with the kits front bumper as I flip the kits front bumper and shave a tad off where it meets the base of the front bulkhead when flipped. This is not needed however it adds extra bracing to the bugleboy bumper during any hard nose hits.

Racers Edge makes a great aluminum horn that works perfa on the XB4.

here is the spectrum shorty servo spec;
Torque: 208 oz-in (15.0kg-cm) @ 6.0V
Speed: 0.08 sec/60 deg @ 6v (no load)
Aluminum hard anodized output shaft/main gear with steel internal gears
Aluminum case for good heat dissipation
Aluminum mounting tabs

HERE IS THE SAVOX
Speed @ 6.0V: 0.08 sec/60°
Torque @ 6.0V: 166 oz-in / 12 kg-cm

the spectrum is not only smaller but is rated for more torque then the normal savox servos that alot of people
im not talking about the specs of the servo. im talking about the durability. shorty servos are typically not as durable as a nice beefy full sized servo. the gears and stuff are thinner and everything is made with less mass inside.

Default HUDY servo horn

Hi,

Wondering if any of you run Hudy Servo horns on your XB4 and if so, which one?

I looked at this image

And then this table
http://www.hudy.net/xhudy/showimage.php?img_id=7982&crt=4efa8b668ee1198289bb 15965d9705b6

And bought this one.

And it hits the body on the inside!! Have a feeling Bruno might have the older style with only two holes - not the "V2"

Hmm.

The way I read the description on the Hudy site, V2 references the fit of the horn on the servo splines. The original Futaba horn actually didn't fit some of the newer Futaba servos so they released the V2 to fit the splines better. I believe the 2 to 3 hole thing was just a running change on the whole line of their horns. It would be pretty great if Hudy gave the option between 2 or 3 holes. The older horns seem to be very popular from what I can tell. So I believe you're right, Bruno has an older style Hudy servo horn, but it doesn't have anything to do with the V2 on the header card.

DMS Racing in the UK, are the distributors for the RCS Graphicworks skin shown in the pic a few posts above, they'll post to the States, not sure on price for p&p though.

The skins sell for just under £10 for a packet of 2.

I'm running a 13.5 with a 78 spur and 28 pinion right now. There's still room for a bigger pinion but not sure how much . I'm guessing 2-4 more teeth. As soon as I get the car dialed in a little more I will bump up the pinion a bit. I'm very competitive at this current gearing.
