So I know a few of you have come from the ZX5 to the XB4... I'm curious to hear some more opinions on how the two cars compare.

Also what are your thoughts on converting the car to 12mm hex? I'm seriously considering the XB4 although one of my major issues is having many sets of wheels and tires for the ZX5 and not really stoked on the idea of having to replace all my wheels and tire sets... Has anyone compared the offsets between the two wheels?

bake them off.. or sell the lot. chances are, if you have a dozen tires your only using 2-4 anyways..

Not quite the answer I was looking for, I'm familiar with baking tires off or using acetone. Neither of which I'm interested in doing considering that I'm also interested in sharing the rears with my 2wd.

You can use the 6mm wide Tamiya touring car hexs and dremel the step down part to the diameter of the rest of the inside and then your 12mm hex buggy rims will fit correctly on the rear. Not sure on the front, I've never measured.

The Kyosho wheels are close in the front but the rears are way off.
DEX410 wheels from Durango or DE Racing fit.
Fronts are a direct fit and the rears you have to ream out the center hole just a tad. Offsets are the same.
Being a tire whore I don't have a huge problem buying new wheels. That reason to not buy a car is the same as not being able to buy your parts at every track in the world.... and you run Kyosho like me but we don;t let that stop us.

Just curious, what's the general consensus of slipper setup, manual mentions 5.5mm -5.7mm but I read alot of you running excess of 7mm?

Thoughts?

What does having wheels and tires for another car and wondering if the offset is close so you can use em on the xb4 have to do with not being able to buy parts at every track in the world? I'm confused on your analogy here.

It sounds like you had a kyosho 4wd and now running the xb4? I guess you could help Dgee out with the first part of his post............. "So I know a few of you have come from the ZX5 to the XB4... I'm curious to hear some more opinions on how the two cars compare."

Someone already mentioned that not all springs would be the same. So try spinning the slipper by hand, if it does not loosen it some more. I run 7mm.

I am usually confused so.... It would be nice to use the $$$$$$$ of new mounted tires I have but... oh well somebody will get a good deal with the ZX.
We exchanged pms, sell the zx get an xb don't look back.
Love to see an Xray 2w but for now hangin on to the rb5 since I'm BROKE. Gotta sell some fleet to get an RB6.
I did some shock changes and got a new 80c pack, can't wait to drive this car again.
