Every other race day seems to be a little on the ocd side but that's my routine. You can stretch it farther though.

Once I've found what works for me, every 8-10 race days. Maybe a bit longer. Like Suby, depends on my OCD that week!

I'm way ocd about my cars, a disease perhaps?! Tinkering on the down time is half the fun for me with this great hobby.

If we run 5 to 7 packs in my buds small 11sec back yard track which each pack gives us 3 five minute races running 13.5's. so 3 times 6 is 18 races we find the diffs are pretty much diffing out. And need to be serviced. And shock oils are black n dirty. Not that happy with the shocks and at least the diffs are easy to get at.

Anyone running VRP Pistons in the XB4? If so, which ones? I'm thinking about trying them. I'm fighting the rear socks on my XB4 right now.

Indoor high bite track and the rear end just isn't stable at all. Running 2 dot springs front and rear, 1.3x3 pistons, 40f and 35r oils. Rear has as much droop and I can put in it. No internal limiters and shock ends and unscrewed 3mm.
Landing off of a jump on the downside and the rear end gets upset and wants to spin out. Any kind of bump and it's rebounding up hard and dancing. It seems more like a chassis kicker than just suspension rebound. What are you guys doing to settle down the rear end? It's a 14 spec BTW.
The Avid piston sets for the car are the best. Period. Highly recommended.

That's what I'm hearing from several people. I'm having a hard time finding what pistons to use on their site though. I'll probably get some Avid springs as well, but again don't know which ones fit the XB4.

You can save some $ by getting the 1.5s and drilling 2 out to 1.6 for the rear. Or Schelle sells them in pairs instead of 4.

Is that what people are running, the 1.5 front and 1.6 rear?

Thanks for the link.

Mostly yes. I've heard of some running 1.7 rear but haven't tried them. Best piston setup I've tried are 1.5/1.6 with 37.5/27.5 or 40/30 depending on temp.

They are on the way along with springs. Now just need to get some 12mm hexes.

Thanks

I'm running Schelle's 2 hole, 1.6 fronts and 1.7 rears. Gotta say I like them. 37.5wt front, 30wt rear, AE oils. I have the Avid 1.5+1.1's and 1.6+1.1's as well, but they seemed to lack the pack I needed for my track. I may go back to them again for some testing. I had been running the 3 hole 1.3's or stock hole set up, but could not find them in machined sizes.
