People are used to the durango ones that pop if you look to hard at them...
IMO the ball cup should not pop off...

We have 4 xray at our track and the this is the list of broken parts.

2 front bulkheads
1 rear tower (not glued)
1 rear arm
1 set internal diffgears (rear)
1 ballcup

Not a lot of stuff when you look at how mutch they have been used.
So i think the car holds up quite well

Face palm, gluing shock towers won't stop them from breaking. It stops them from fraying

Yeah delrin is a bit harder but I thought I could buy the material in a thickness similar to the original 3mm shock towers so thats why.

The manual doesn't show a one dot front but it does show a three dot front. Please advise. I found it slightly disturbing when the shock shaft wobbles like a drunken sailor. Anyone else notice that ? Durangos wobble, Kyoshos and Losis don't (quick check of vehicles within reach). I won't run mine till tomorrow, I sure hope they don't leak like sieves. Good thing I'll be running the Kyosho as well and have a spare set of big bores I can try on the xb4.
One thing that concerned me when looking at the manual before I got the car was the slipper adjuster but after building I like it. As someone just said a bench test even at the looser of the recommended setting seems a bit tight and it may be fine after break in but with the gear issue in mind I 'll start with a very loose slipper.
With a new car I'll just make some casual laps checking trims etc and just driving around and NOT worry about how "fast" it is or whatever. Spend a whole pack never going full blast, stopping every 5-10 laps to check and set things, 10-15 minutes.

Make sure you adjust the slipper to the updated setting", 5.8-6.3mm I belive?

I have had no problem with shocks leaking on mine.

I did make quite a fuzz regarding shimming of the diffs (crown and pinion) a while back. Even got the attention of Xray employees
I choose to leave the shims in there, and my gears are still in great shape. I do not buy the argument of plastic gears expanding as much as they would have to in order to get perfect mesh, in my car at least. And after replacing the front bulkehad, the same shiming was needed there as well...
Not saying you all should run an shim your gears, but I just want to share my experience so far

I also broke a rear tower at the top. This tower was not sanded and glued. As someone stated here, you dont sand and glue for strength. And I agree.
However, with edges rounded I belive there is less chance of snagging, which I belive broke my rear tower.

Just finished my build. Kit went together good. Ive built quite a bit of kits and put this kit almost as good as my Kyoshos.

The shocks are def NOT on the same level as the velvets. I did have few screws that where bent or not hexed correctly (also had a ball end with no hex).

Fit and finish on the plastic was A+. Ill get to test a little tomorrow. I owned both a zx5 and a 44.2 so Ill give a little insite.

I know that XRAY has been working hard on addressing some of the issues that have popped up since the kits went into full release.

For those complaining about the lack of response, please consider that it is the Holiday season and many if not all of them are off spending time with their families (as most of us also have time off from our jobs to do the same)...

Even so, I know that there has been correspondence and that they have been looking into the issues.

Just about ready to go! Electronics done, and old 78t AE spur fitted.
Just need wing and body now.

Thanks for the update Chris.

I believe this will give everyone a little confidence that xray are looking into some of the minor issues the car has. I think the main things are;

The thickness of the shock tower material/ amount of material around where the ball stud joins.
The strength of the bulkheads around the stock tower mounting area (these two need to be considered hand in hand as thickening up the towers will put more stress on the diff casing in a crash).
The shimming/ size/ material of the diffs gears.

I haven't even built my kit yet, let alone run it, but I'd say the issues seem to be fairly minor, but something xray should try and address with some running parts updates. All in all, all owners seem to be over the moon with their cars.

I'm sorry I didn't see this thread and post anything sooner....been traveling the countryside with my wife and 2 small children, battling colds and flu to fulfill family obligations over the Holidays...frankly...if I was feeling better I'd be at the track today even, but so far I'm doing good just to make it to the PC.

Has anyone got a starting point for a pinon on the XB4 when I run a 7.5 in it?
Thanks for your help.
