Quick Question in using the new 4 hole aluminum steering plate.
What is a good starting point regarding suggested mm b. steer under the ball studs. The kit plate looks to have lower hanging base point for the ball studs. I was thinking possibly adding an additional 2mm shim with the 2mm c. washer thus topping out at 4mm.
As always any suggestions is greatly appreciated

I used a 4mm spacers on the weekend. I think factory driver are using either 4-5mm of spacing.
I'm surprised how different the holes are on the new plate. Not one hole lines up to the standard kit one.
ps I have sent Xray an email questing an updated XB4 setup sheet(v5) so we can record the new ancherman position and include the a spot to record spacers used on the new alum rear hub.

The back side is not flush, so it is adapted for stock geometry without the roll center brace. I find that with the new towers there is very little or no need for the roll center brace, so it will do its job without it.
For the rear it won't work, unless maybe if you run the shock tower in the rear position.

Using the shock tower mount in the rear still leaves nothing but the shock tower bolts to screw to,this whole area is very weak.
Asfar as the front just noticed the brace i have doesnt connect to the last row of bolts,but does connect to the inside camber link screws,not sure what good that does,can someone post a link to a site in the usa that sells this type brace and the shelle or avid pistons that work well for handliing larger jumps.this triple is eating the xb4 alive

both mine broke on 2 diffrent cars in almost same spot,this type of mini brace in alum would work ok..

Thanks my friend for the help. Yes I agree the new 4 hole plate is much different with the Ackerman positions and although thinner the ball stud base mounts sit higher than the stock plate.
I will definitely try 4mm first by adding a 2mm shim. When using just the 2mm c. washer as directed with the stock steering plate the angle is just to much.

havnt seen may carbon parts with a tight right angle in them. usually flat parts that can be cad cut from a sheet.

I think that camber link brace was to stop the inner ball stud ripping though the shock tower, nothing to do with the bulkhead breaking.
First thing I noticed when I built mine was that there wasn't a lot of the flat part of the ball stud sitting on the shock tower, meant it could twist in a crash, I just used washers and flanged nuts and haven't had a problem there.
Like I said before, the Rall Racing bulkhead saver is a god send, going by how the kit one broke, I'm sure the saver has stopped me having a breakage since.

Since there is no chance of getting a replacement here in time for the last indoor race of the season on Sat, I'm going to try epoxying it together and keep my fingers crossed to see if it holds up. Anyone have any tips for gluing or welding carbon fiber?

Can you use CA glue in conjunction with some accelerator(Bob Smith Industries) CA on one edge and accelerator on the other edge.
I could be totally wrong as I am not positive on how this combo works on CF but I do know it works like magic in securing broken plastic/composite parts..
