I mean the center diff and shorty was the main reason why I spent the money and bought the 2015 when i had a like new 2014 sitting here at home. sorry for the rant, just think it was dumb by them to sell a kit without the options for it
My rant now...

I think it's dumb, that you think it's dumb that you thought it was going to be available when the kit came out.
So you wanted Xray to not distribute the '15 kits until the optional center diff was ready to be ship?

They should not ship new kits until parts support is sufficient and plenty as well.

If Xray puts it into their brochure for the '15 kit, I would expect it to be released just about at the same time. If they are in fact still designing the molds, that means they aren't that close.

It's like buying a real car. If you go into a dealer and they say that it has optional leather seats. Don't you expect it to be available? Not currently being designed and may be released in the next years model.

I agree, also would be nice to have known that other option parts like the aluminum central bulkhead are also not being released anytime soon. If they are still working on the centre diff then i feel the aluminum bulkhead will be worked on after it. God I hate waiting for option parts they make me feel like I'm going faster

You guy’s can be so unrealistic at times.

Now you want to compare a billion dollar automobile company to a toy company!

You’re dreaming.

I reckoned I could walk into an auto dealer today and ask for a specific make/colour/trim and multiple options and they wouldn’t have it on the floor ready to go. Odds on, it would have a recall on it the following year too. Why comparing a +5year investment to a RC model which is updated yearly.

I sound like some of you want Xray to build a car that doesn’t break, then to hold and stock sufficient parts for an unbreakable car?

If Xray prints “Under Construction” across new options would that make you happy?

I look at it this way. If Xray released the car that Bentka pictured some months ago there would have been complaints about no shorty pack. Then 6 months later release the ’15 spec car with a shorty configuration and an updated center diff, we would have to read about people complaining about having to buy another new kit and the diff isn’t interchangeable. Xray has a lot on manufacturing equipment, but they don’t have one machine allocated to each and every part they make.

On a lighter note the bevel gear bushings needed for the steel bevel gears are being shipped to me tomorrow.

Well, if we all get an opinion then, my feelings are if you are a company, albeit a small RC toy company, that boasts about making everything in-house, then you should be able to coordinate the release and shipment of your new kit to your distributors with all the necessary spares and optional upgrades you have to offer - especially knowing that the centre diff was one of the most sought after upgrades/selling features.

Side note: Yes, most 'breakables' are available, like arms etc. (I've only broken one in 2 years - not a lot breaks!).

But I do love my Xray - I don't have the '15 yet (or do I wait for the '16? lol) but I'll want something like that centre diff for summertime & clay. Maybe an early 2015 release with these optional upgrades would have made everyone more happy? C'mon, no way, we've all been clamouring for this new kit - and it was released 13 months after the '14! Xray stuff has always been worth the wait. We all just hate waiting.

Pinion size should be fun with a 72 HB spur. 26 pinion seems like the very smallest I can get to work.
Might have to jump to a 10.5

Wait, you update these things yearly? I have a '13 car that I think should be good for me until at least 2020. Then my payments should be done and I expect there will be more slop than I like in the car.

You have a '13 car? What bulkheads are you using and do you have issues with striping the diff gears?

Default instruction manual v2

Do any of you see any chance in the manual that came with the kit compared to the v2 you can download from teamxray now?

Best regards

What the issue with the 2015 slipper that a bunch want to run a gear diff. With the change to steel gears theres a wide range of adjustment of the slipper without the need to worry about breaking the plastic gears. This car rocks. I race on med grip clay tracks and dont find the need for the center diff my slipper is just fine.

Did the HB diff just drop in? Same bearings, a little shimming? How long is the diff vs. the '15 slipper? Nice job!

HB bearings are 8x14x4.. xray are 10x15x4

HB center diff.. Xray outdrives.

I made some shims and spacers. No holes drilled in the chassis. I will change the 85mm shaft to a 88 mm from a 14 , needs to be a little deeper in the outdrive.
