But seriously, I follow most threads and Xray fanboyz are the most defensive of all. Why is that?

My buddy, not mullet1 seems to have unending issues with the front center drivetrain cvd, he even had the pin eject through the aluminum retainer. It's painful to watch, almost ever time he puts it out there is an issue with the car. I could swear he must be driving a Durango ( a car which I rarely had issue with)?!

Will do, what kind should he be using, let me guess, xray?! JK lol(quick troll). Are you guys using a lithuim grease or a black grease? I sincerely wish he had it all sorted out, he is a good driver and has no other issues with any other of his kits...

I had a pin come out but only after the screw for the input gear came loose inside the diff case.

Hmm, Keith was having hell with his car at 3palms, I actually felt bad for him lol. So the input gear is held in place by a screw going into it securing it to output of the cv joint? ? Maybe he didn't threadlock it...

These following recommendation was previously mentioned many pages back by others. And this work for me. These following parts are a good investment for our xb4's. I've installed these drive shaft pins all around and yet to have any issue. As well as Exotek cups for front and rear center drive shaft and front axles. The rear however, I've use the Durango drive shaft boots. These boots doesn't fit over the Exotek cups so well but with the safety pins in (loctite) I have yet to have any issue. Good luck.

first things to check, droop/limiter changes, front hinge pin insert changes? I broke mine as well last month lota coin for that fix

I have had the screw that goes into the pinion in the front diff come loose. It wreaks all kinds of havoc.

First of all it allows the centre front cvd to back out of the diff case which will allow the plastic cvd cover to back off allowing the cvd pin to escape which happened to me. Snapped a front cvd pin because it slipped out a bit and caught the plastic rib on the chassis.

But i also found that if the pinion screw in front diff pinion backs out enough it actually hit's the diff, which will lock up the front end. You can see the grooves caused by the screw
on the diff, as well as a polished screw head.

I also ended breaking the short pin in the spur shaft that keeps the front cup in place. I think the the front end locking up caused this.

But on the upside no stripped diff gears running on indoor and outdoor clay with a 6.5.

All of this due to screws coming loose. User error in my opinion, the car really is a tank for any of you doubting it.

I was looking at a local driver's xb4 recently and saw that when the suspension was fully compressed, the driveshaft was rubbing and putting pressure on the outside edge of the outdrives and clunking on the slot in them. The drive shafts were worn quite a bit in that spot. I don't know if that is normal, but that might explain your outdrives shattering if it was also happening for you.
