With a Hobbywing V2.1 and Futaba receiver did not have to modify anything to get it to fit, and had room to spare.

I run an XB4 and a Caster S10B. I raced them both today at a Regional Championship in the North of England.

The XB4 is a great car, but I have problems with it hopping its back end up in the air over smallish bumps or jumps. The car feels really nicely setup - very similar to the Caster, yet the Caster will fly nice and flat over small jumps and just hammers over bumps superbly.

The Caster is heavier (1.9 kilos ready to race), but I have weights in the back of the Xray to try and help. Anybody else suffer from this? Still qualified 9th out of an 80 car entry, so quite happy.

Had a great weekend with the XB4 on the weekend here in Australia, finished 2nd overall in the modified class at my first big offroad race (normally an onroad driver), losing to the Current National Champ who was just a little bit too fast. Learnt lots though about the car and will post a setup soon!

Now to try and get a shorty lipo in there

Can anyone explain to me what the difference is between the 2013 and 2014 slipper pads please?

Is it worth the rather large amount of money to buy this?

I race on outdoor carpet if it makes any difference

one is orange and the other is black. oh and the part number on the header card.

The new 2014 pads (orange) have a little more slippage. I find it absorbs and rides the bumps better using the 2014 pads.

Note: if you are update your slipper pad to the 2014, you should update to the new slipper spring also.

The new slipper pads make a big difference. The slipper is actually adjustable now, and it really helps on wear for the diff gears.

You guys kill me - juice bottle wings huh? Ok, why not, LOL. Then again keeping it on all 4's would be trick #1 right - fewer wings get destroyed that way. I've had 3 club races this spring so far - my JC wing has taken a bit of a beating but is still very much useable (no, the Xray OEM wing did not last very long).

Proline makes a nice thick wing, their Trifecta, part # 6250, it is super thick and might be worth a look. Then again you could go all the way and try the S Works wing, but that rubs under full compression.

I just ordered the S works wing to use on a friends outdoor track this summer, I'm hopeful it works...
