Default Still in the dark over gearing for New build XB4

Hi,

I am currently halfway through the build and afterA LOT of research I am still not sure as to what gearing to go for.

Here is the new track video here in N Houston

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q8I...ature=youtu.be

I have the new Tekin RSX with 8.5T motor.

Can any offer a little advice as to how to gear this setup based on the track video

Do u want max top speed on the straight? Or do you gear it for specific jumps?I would start with a 23 and see what happens

From the camera angle, that track looks huge! I'd stick with the 81T spur and start with a 22-23 tooth pinion as mentioned above. Try it at race pace for 3 minutes, temp it and see where you are at. Your track is what I'd consider hard packed or even loamy dirt, you are going to create some heat in that type of surface.

Let me know if you want any NIP step pins!

Need a place to start with gearing for a 13.5.
Small-medium track layout, high traction clay, if it matters.

Thanks!

It's a brand new setup, 1/8th is adjacent to the 1/10th. Think the camera angle makes it look a little bigger.

I was gonna go with a 22-23t and see how it goes.. Trial and error.

Well at least when I get the saddle pack delivered and get this thing finished..

Is it possible to use the Durango DEX410 springs on the XB4 shocks?

Going to be herringbone of these by next weekend. Having seen Kellens buggy in action I know they are tough. What has broken so far? Is the kit setup good? And any other manufacturers pistons working in it? Also what others springs work?

Broken so far : Rear inner ball cup , wing , wing mount (just 1 though).

Kit setup good : Yeah , its exactly in the middle. Good place to start.

Pistons: Everyone will tell you to buy the avid pistons. I use drilled x ray pistons . 1.6fr / 1.7r and like them very much .

Med outdoor 1/8 track with a 8.5 , little bumpy , big jumps ...

Ok, so with the avid pistons am I looking for specific ones? or just avid pistons I am assuming 2X1.6 and 2X17. What oil should I be running? I have boatloads of AE oil from my past excursion with the B44.2 35/32.5/30/27.5/25. I really don't want to buy new shock oil.
