Is there anyone using 4pole 540 motor in this? Do you like it better then a 2pole 540? Is it too much motor?

I'm using the stock blank pistons I drilled myself. I should say I used, I prefer the 1.1/1.5 and 1.1/1.6 avid pistons.

XB4 pistons are horrible. By not fitting in the shock body they have huge blow by. The best upgrade you can give yourself is purchasing Avid pistons. Night an day difference you can notice instantly.

What's the diameter difference between the avid and the x ray pistons?

The avid pistons are awesome. I'd start with the stock setup minus the rear gear box shim and plus the avid pistons. From there it all depends on what you want the car to do differently.

I guess I want to know the difference in the overall diameters of the two different pistons not the holes in the pistons. Like , specifically how much larger is a avid piston ?

Here is my take on the pistons. Yes the avids to fit better but hurai wouldn't design the shock to be that tight if he didebt think it's necessary. Blow by is necessary to ensure that the shock doesn't leak out the orings cause by too much internal pressure. I run ae pistons in my rb6 shocks for more blow by. I say stay with the stock pistons and you'll be fine. I'm currently running 1.6s drilled with 32.5/25 tlr oil

I dont think the stock pistons fit bad, I just want to know what "fit horrible" is in numbers .

I don't run the Avid's because they fit better I run them because I like the performance over the 2 hole. Originally I had some stock blanks drilled with the 1.1/1.5 1.1/1.6 and liked them so I thought I would try the Avid pistons and they are even better, maybe because of the fit I don't know.

I keep getting faster with X-ray and the 14 version should be better yet.
I have 2013 xb4 v2 version ..I'm selling just not that good at 1/10 4x4.
besides our class is slowly dying off.

The stock pistons on the roller I just picked up are pretty bad as far as fitment. Plus after trying Rocket RC machined pistons in both my Serpents im sold on them. I ordered the Avids.
