Anyone else having trouble with the motor mount shifting? A couple weeks ago, my motor shifted causing me to strip my spur gear, and tonight, the motor shifted the other directing, causing the mesh to be too tight.

I love this car, but dislike the came design of the motor mount, tightened only by the one screw. IMO, it's the one design flaw of this buggy, as it seems to me that there is not way to positively clamp it down.

The only way I can see the motor shifting in the mount is for the screw to come loose. Being a cam system, the motor would have to be so loose in the mount that it rotated - that's pretty loose.

Is that what happened to you?

I had this very thing happen a couple weeks ago, was caused by a very hard impact with an 1/8th e-buggy during practice. Since, I've cinched the clamp down very tight. Under normal conditions it should not be a problem, nor have I had any other issues with it.

I would put some thread lock on the clamp screw.

Thanks, will give that a try

EDIT: Brilliant! I replaced it with a 2.5mm Cap Head and I can really torque it down now. Thanks again!

A good point that someone at our local track brought up:

It is possible to install the plate that attaches to the motor face backwards - with the flange facing the motor. I'm told you can install the motor just fine as you normally would, but it wouldn't "lock in" to the motor mount itself.

Not suggesting this is your issue, but something for anyone having an issue might double check.
