Even though i have nto broken any suspensionarms that i did not dremel myself, i know that there is a lot of People brakinfg front lower arms. It is a fact. Even though i am a Mugen fan, i sold my two MBX7 and bought two XB9-13 as i felt that was a better car for me. I really love how the XB9 drives.

It was not my intention to start a bitchslap fight With BentKa, but when he will not even comment on his own arguments that falls into pieces, that anoies me. And when i feel i am beeing called a smuck beween lines, i get anoid.

My work is a problemsolver with a Premium car brand. If we bullshit our customar he will eventually find out because he also have internet and sooner or later he will find info on the interweb. Sometimes Our customar gives us how to fix a problem we are not aware of, that might be a big problem another place in the world. It teaches us to be humble and honsest if a customar has a problem we are not awere of. When we check his car, evrything is ok, at this point, it does not mean that it will not be somekind of problem. If we do our job right, we sell car number two to that customar becase of our honesty and good relations, not nesseserely the Product itself. If we deny there are any problems and evrything is ok, he will find out and next time he goes somewere else.

This probebly will put me as the assh...e in this "geargate", but i gave it some serius thought and decided to post. Forgive me for all the trouble i made in your thread.

This is why someone does not have any problems With his car, or so it seemed...

in case they missed it on rctech, the new diff bevel gear is thicker and the nt1 gears are thicker so some thought should be given to the tolerances.

Been using the NT1 gears and lightweight pins since "day 1" and have 4 weeks, 2 races and countless batteries in practice with the new 35T diff gear as well.

Runs as smooth as ever and not a single issue so far

You're not making much sense here am

Have you missed the fact that we've had 3 XB4 running ?

1 for me and 2 for my daughter.

My solution early on for the weak V1 bulkhead:

Here you can spot the carbon u-brace I made for the front of the tower:

These images are from the Petite Race in January at Mustit Raceway.

As I've said we have been racing this buggy since day 1 on all kinds of different surfaces (except carpet)........what is your hands on experience with this buggy so far ?

But as I've said.......use Mugen pins on your driveshafts and shim your XB4 diffs (if you had one) however you want.
We on the other hand will keep on running them without any issues to the drivetrain simply by following manufacturers recommendation and setting up the vehicles to the race conditions

Bent-
I noticed in your sig that you have an XB2 listed--is it really a "2" or are you maybe just running a "4" without the front diff??
Also-what turn motors are you and Malin running in the 4's??
Thanks!

I believe it was a running change. Not a new part number. When they first updated them to the V2 the current stock at Amain immediately went on backorder. I assume this is because Xray had them stop sending out the V1's. So you should receive the V2. That is the correct part number though.

It's a converted XB4

-Removed all drive components from the slipper towards the front.
-Added max possible kick up with the front inserts.
-New rear shock tower with additional camber link mounts (extra outer row)
-Moved rear shock tower behind the rear bulkhead.
-Moved rear shock behind rear shock tower.
-Drilled new holes in rear a-arm for mounting shocks.
-Under LiPo weights.
-Replaced plastic chassis under rear gearbox with brass plates.
-Losi 4.0 spring front
-AE 2.2 spring rear.

Next step was supposed to be bending the front chassis plate to add more kick up, swap the motor mount 180 degrees to get the motor further back, run a shorty next to the motor and narrow the chassis in front.

But seeing as a lot of these changes are due on the new XB4-2WD and the outdoor astro season is over here I never did the rest of the mods

Here's a low quality cell phone pic of it from the last round of the Swedish Cup in Söderham.
There's also some videos of it in action on her Facebook page

The back and forth in here is ridiculous. Bent- keep racing and having fun racing with your daughter. All of us actual owners are good. I have chipped 1 gear due to improper slipper setting. After that its perfect. 6.5 reedy full boost. I use xray pins and have the plastic covers on driveshafts. I have had the car since it arrived in US. Wouldn't trade it for anything. Maintenance is your friend on every rc car. Xray is more durable creating a false sense of security. They still need cleaned, inspected and a dab of grease here and there.

If you don't like the xb4 buy something else. Let us owners who are happy with the car talk about set up and the new xb4 14

Trolls. Find the hide button and be done with them.

Hitec 7940TH
Sanwa M11X radio/ RX451 receiver

Depending on your traction level you could even go to 5f/3r on the diffs. I found it a lot easier to drive when the surface was a loose/medium scenario.

Default set up advice

Any help would be appreciated. especially from an actual xray owner..

im running on a mid size (90x45) indoor hard packed clay that is smooth and wet with lots of grip. we shave down M4 suburbs to slicks all around. my issue seems to be rear traction as im on power the rear seem to slide more than I'd like. the set up is pretty much box with the exception of 9degree front hubs.

thanks
Jay
