I run the avids had to go a bit lower on weights compared to the drilled ones. The avids are very very consistent though and fit just right. The stockers are rounded edges while avids are flat so you might feel they are bit too tight I guess. If ghea were to come out with xb4 I would get those in a second. Best pistons ever for my rb6.

which avids are you running and what weights are you running? I should take off my RB6 shocks with the Ghea pistons in them (that would be the ultimate shock )

haha yeah sadly ghea pistons for rb6 wont work, too thick for the xray eclip notches in the shafts. From my last race in the xb4

Front 3 dot springs with 1.5x2 1.1x2 35 losi
Rear 1 dot springs 1.6x2 1.1x2 30 losi

I was thinking about using the whole shock on my Xray (Im not feeling the RB6 anymore) Im using AE drilled and shaved pistons but there's so much slop as everyone knows.

wow thats alot thinner in weight but you are racing in a hotter climate. I'm using 40F/ 32.5R losi, Oregon weather (would you sell the other 1.5/ 1.6??)

I recall trying this. Gotta watch your shock length/droop as from memory the RB6 front shock is a fair bit shorter?

Hi, is a 13.5 motor fast enough for the XB4? I have two builds going right now that happen to be 4WD buggies. I've only ever driven 2WD. The esc is an LRP FLOW Works Team. Thanks!

Yessir I had posted pics a while back. The front droops too much and the rears as well. The xray towers are a lot shorter than the lazer and b44. The xray shocks are not bad with the aluminum tops though. I would not put kyosho shocks on mine ride heights tough to get down to 18mm if needed with the kyosho springs and all. The xray springs wont fit the kyosho bodies.

Also I just bought the smaller 1.5x2 1.1x2 pistons and drilled a pair out to 1.6 mm. No big deal just be careful and slow and use lots of compressed air/light to clean out the hole and see what you are doing. Used this http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ston-Drill-Set

Oils might be a bit light. I have not run the car for last 3 months or so been running on road in summer. The off road marshalling takes a toll in the hot california desert air . On roads more relaxing. Will be back playing in the dirt for the winter series of course. Nothing beats big air!!

That really depends on the size and layout of the track, the traction levels and also your driving abilities.

Around me, most people use a 6.5 in 4wd. Some as low as 5.0. Others as high as 10.5. I use a 6.5 with a little bit of boost and turbo. Feels just right to me for the tracks I go to. Could be major overkill on a small dusty track with narrow lanes though.

In 2wd it usually ranges from 13.5 down to 7.5, maybe 6.5 if you're crazy. I use a 9.5. Most of the guys I race with use an 8.5 for 2wd.

Ask around at your local track(s) what motors everyone is running. It will give you a better idea of the range you want to be in than you'll get from random people in other parts of the world

What's your guys take on the XB-4?

How does the XB4 rotate say compared to a 4wd running a double ball diff?

Is there another good forum for the XB-4 because this thread seems kind of dead compared to the others.

Just installed all my electronics last night can't wait to get out to the track.

1. Great kit! From build quality to durability.
2. It rotates very well compared to ball diff, just need to learn to tune with diff oil.
3. I haven't found another forum as busy as this one. However, the more people that get the car, the more likely to forum will get busier.
4. You're going to love it!

I think that everyone is just really happy with how the car runs just on stock setups so ther isn't really much to talk about. Its the same on other fourms, a little dead till people run into problems.

I can fix a XB4 roller if anyone want to buy one

I was the Lawn Dart King last night and even with my cringing shoulders from the impact(s) on hard clay... nothing BROKE!!! I'm running the Bayer set still and the only thing I changed was the the diff fluid 10F/5R from what I was previously running (5F/3R for an outdoor loose dirt track). Huge difference! The rotation wasn't there and the rear end was unpredictable. I should of just changed the front diff to 7-8K (next time)

Other than the shock pistons not being up to par and not having spare diffs... the car is aswesome

yea man, get some spare kits. I haven't even opened one for parts yet. Long Live the XB4.
