Default wheel Hexes....

I run 2wd associated cars and recently bought and XB4 and love it. I realized however that I cant use my associted wheels on my XB4 because the hexes are not the same. Does anyone know if a company offers a hex that would work on the B4.2 or the XB4 so i can use the same wheels on each car?

Thanks so much.

Justin

If SCTE hex's fit then HPI Blitz ones should as well, I had them on my SCTE because they were less than half the price of losi ones

You'd think he wouldn't want to put the B4.2 (2wd) front wheels on his XB4. Unless he is secretly testing the XB2 prototype! ha ha.

I tried the 3/3 diffs last night and I agree it was interesting. It introduced a slight on power push at the first application of throttle. It was quite strange and I went back to the stock ackerman position and put harder oil in the rear shocks from what I was running and the car was good. In comparing to the 7/7 diffs I think they offered a little better performance overall on the very low grip track we were running last night. Temps were below 10*C and still some damp patches on the track from recent rain.

Overall, glad I tried it. Something else to have in the kit for when conditions change.

Like I said I am new to gear diffs so I appreciate your input as I am still learning how to tune them to work with my style of driving. Our track is low grip (indoor clay so it is consistent) and I do indeed run slightly overdamped shocks because the standard oils made the car a bit sensitive. Iv'e since gone back up some in diff oil weight. Unfortunately due to my current life I don't race and can only get to the track for an hour at a time so when I do go I tend spend my time concentrating on my driving rather than tuning. Makes it difficult to get a firm opinion on things sometimes.

I'm new to 4wd but good lord this car rocks. Bought the car used and this thing is so easy to drive!

Just wondering if there's a set up for a low/loamy track set up? I just want to compare set ups. I saw rschockly's but that's for clay

I haven't taken my car apart yet but the only think I know the front different is 9k and the rear is 1k. Other drivers like my set up so cudos to the previous owner

Don't clean the oil. Just put in new oil.

Kidding aside. Just dump it. Pull the small gears and cross pin out and let the diff sit draining on a paper towel or something for a few minutes. The little bit of residue sticking to the inside isn't a big deal. Just reassemble after the old oil drains off and refill with fresh oil.

Couple quick questions:

Do the 12mm hexes have the right offset if used on the front?

Are most using the metal gears from the NT1 in the gear diffs or the V2s?
