My LHS just called RC America today and was told the upgrade kits should be at RC America on 2/8 or 2/9. Then shipped out the next day from there to the hobby shops.

That's pretty darn amazing. Very consistent, good throttle control, able to show restraint and run her own qualifier vs. worrying about others.

Most adult racers don't have all those qualities. Well done!

Has anyone had any issues of leaky diffs?
If so, what was the cause/remedy?

Cheers.

common issue, some used sealents some presoaked the gasket some like me just redid them a couple times while testing and as they broke in the leaks stopped. Same for the shocks.

Man did I mess this up. Early on I measured some wheels in hopes to using some of the 10-15 sets of FRONT mostly new mounted tires from my zx5 and was dissapointed that it didn't look like I could use them.
SO
I had the hexes off the ZX5 and the XB4 was sitting there so after finding the proper pin the Kyosho hexes were on the XB4 and the kyosho wheels fit right on the FRONT. DAGNAGBIT ! They are the tiniest bit more negative offset but good enough to look at it again tomorrow and probably run it.
The rears are even more offset and would need to be drilled so those are a no.

The fronts fit on fine with changing the pin. Use the .5 hinge pin inserts to widen the track back out to the standard width. The rears are different and won't fit without drilling as they have to fit over the 5mm part of the Xray axle. The wheels also need to be drilled.

The problem with the rear is that once you have drilled and messed around, you find that the wheel nut goes all the way on and the wheel isn't tight. You then need to put a spacer on the outside of the wheel or you can drill the Avid truck rear hexes like I did and narrow the inside of them a bit.

It takes some messing around but it worked so I could use up my old stock. Might be worth it if you have lots. I have run through all my old stock and now have shiny white Xray wheels and I have to tell you it is a lot less mucking around and the car seems to handle a little better as I can use more of the standard settings.

My shocks leak really bad so I am going to try the caps in hot water and see if that fixes it.

The caps seem to work themselves loose. I started unbolting the top and tighten the cap after every run. It's a little bit of a hassle but not bad.

Thanks

Her setup for practice at the moment is:

Front:
35W AE / 2 Hole 1.6 / Progressive springs / Stock Swaybar
10K Diff / Holeshot M3 / Proline Closed Cell

Rear:
35W AE / 2 Hole 1.7 / Progressive springs / Stock Swaybar
5K Diff / Holeshot M3 / Proline Closed Cell

Everything else stock.

Good for 22.7 which is her personal best with this setup

Bent

Qualifying round #4 from a different angle on the track.

She went on to win all of her qualifying heats except for the first one in which her battery decided to let go

This earned her start #6 in the A-finals
