Tekin, Tekin, or Tekin.

Sorry I'm a huge Tekin fanboy after having bad luck with Novak and hearing the hurry stories with Castle's customer service.

I have heard good things about the Orion and Speed Passion stuff though. Still a Tekin fanboy though

Anything but Novak or Castle is good. If you want to go good and cheap and don't race mod (although you can with this speed control, it is perfectly capable, just need to attach the fan) the 90A R10 Pro is a solid choice for $159.00. Orion Fanboy here, but also realistic, I have used almost everything out there and in order of preference, Orion, Tekin, Hobbywing, Speed passion, LRP (very damaged reputation due to BEC issues with V2 speed controls), Novak, Castle.

My vote goes for a Brushlesshobbies.com 80amp or 120amp esc. These are some of the smoothest and most adjustable out there and the price point is VERY nice. Stan goes out of his way to help and has great customer service as well.

You have a great ESC , no need to go to a different brand .

If you are talking 4wd sc I'd take a v3 hobbywing over any esc any day.. sold my rx8 after getting it. The HW SCPRO esc is even better than the tekin rx8 imo (again 10th scale), they are great and cheaper if don't want to spend as much for the v3, tis just a little bigger footprint (more like the rx8 size). Keep in mind performance is as good if not better, you have at least as many tweaks and you can do it all on the included lcd programmer w/o a PC.

If you are talking 2wd then you can get the HW extreme stock esc.. cheap and awesome.

Tekin is excellent for short course. Castle MMP is decent and cheaper, but not as good as the Tekin.

I currently run tekin rx8. I just bought a Hw sct pro. I'm going to run and see how it is. Everyone talks highly of them. And for $90 you can't go wrong

personally i really like the viper speed controls. they are small, powerful and VERY adjustable convienently through the progauge without using a computer and on top of all that they have a 1 year warranty.

What chassis are you running? In my SCTE 4X4, I've had really good luck with the Tekin RX8. You have to be able to feed it with some high Mah/high C batteries, but it will give you all the speed and torque you could want. In my SC10 2WD, the Novak Havoc Pro SC is working flawlessly and is as smooth as it gets.

I have a SC10 4X4 sitting around that I'm going to throw a Novak Activ8 into soon. I haven't been able to try one yet, but I am getting anxious to give it a shot
