Default 540 4-Pole Question

I'm purchasing a 540 4-pole motor for my SC10 4x4. I was wondering what the difference between KV ratings between a 540 4-pole and a 540 2-pole motor is. I'm not putting a 540 2-pole motor in my 4x4, but i was just curious.

Also, what is a better choice for a small indoor track? A 4000kv 4-pole or a 4700kv 4-pole? I don't want too much power, but i don't want too little either.

Thank you.

Video of track this motor wil be on.

I actually think you should use a 550 2-pole. Smoother power delivery and better feel off-throttle.

If its indoor 4-pole isent needed a 2-pole 550 can will do just as well you also wont need to buy the more expensive esc to support 4-pole. A reedy 4.0 550 and a hobby wing esc will be just as fast if not faster then a 4-pole.

the 4 pole will have more bottom end kick and depending on your Kv will have around the same top end. the lower the Kv the higher the torque. but also less top end. so I would say the 4000 would be better. but idk the size of the tack either. You could also go with the 1415 size 540 4 pole and get more torque than regular can motors with the same speed.

Those are fairly general statements. It really depends on the 4pole motor. Some have a lot of cog torque and are not smooth off throttle or on power. Some roll very freely like our Pro4 series. Some 540 motors also have a lot of cog torque.

We sell a 550 2pole motor that is good stuff for some applications. However we also sell a ton of 4 pole motors so someone seems to like them

The 1415 is way longer than 540 size.

I would have to go with the tekin pro4 4000kv setup. I loved it when I had my durango 4x4 SC. I had it paired with the rx8 speedo. I also had the castle creations 3800kv with mamba max pro setup. Both are fast and respectable, but when it comes to smoothness and response I think the pro4 takes it.

Was looking at the xerun sct pro esc with the 3656 sensored 540 4-pole. It is a small indoor track and the truck will only be used on tracks indoors, very similar in size. I will post a video of the track.

That hobbywing is a great choice, you'll need to limit your top end on that track but it will feel great. Gear 14t and just limit the throttle to like 80%

P's I'd take the hw xerun over the pro4 and rx8 any day, in fact I did I started this year with a rx8 pro4 setup and once I tried the xerun setup I sold the Tekin days later.

Go for the hobbywing, the cost is way better and the power is unbelievable. I use the 4000kv and its mote then fast enough. I've heard the 4700kv motor is crazy fast. Would be sweet on barnstormers outdoor track.

Trinity 4XS 540 4-pole 3800-4800. I still really like my Fantom Fusion2 4.5 550 and RX8. Its stupid fast, ultra smooth, and very reliable.
