Default The "If you had the money" thread

This is a thread idea I also posted in the forums for Forza (Xbox game). Here's the deal, you have 3 tiers, each with it's own price cap. You can use any manufacturer and any upgrade/part as long as it is compatible with the model you choose. Please use sites like amain and towerhobbies to get your prices. This can be for a pure bred racer, or a basher, or both. Up to you, but this is just for people to stretch their imaginations if they were just given a check. (This is assuming you have tools, charger, etc.)

The tiers are $1000, $1500, and $2000.

As an example.

$1500
Losi 8ight-TE 2.0
Team Losi 8IGHT-T 2.0 4WD Competition Nitro Truggy Kit - 629.99
Tekno RC V4 Brushless Kit - 114.99
Tekin RX8/Redline T8 1/8th Scale Truggy Brushless ESC/Motor Combo - 329.99
Tekno RC 5mm Losi 8T Rear Shock Tower - 30.99
Tekno RC 5mm Losi 8T Front Shock Tower - 30.99
DE Racing Losi 8ight-T 2.0 Truggy Mud Guards - 6.39
Fioroni Tractive IV Center Differential - 189.99
AKA Racing EVO Impact 1/8 Truggy Tires (Soft) - 38.99
AKA Racing EVO Impact 1/8 Truggy Tires (Soft) - 38.99
Gens ace LIPO Battery 4000mAh 60-120C 22.2V - 85.50

TOTAL = 1496.81

For any if the teirs I would buy a few 1/10 2WD Buggies for friends so the class would be bigger and more competitive.

My dream RC was a 1/8 eBuggy and thanks to getting a job at HobbyTown and snagging a great deal on electronics I was able to get one much sooner than expected!

I have been lucky in that I can mostly afford any R/C (see sig) I want since my kids are grown up and on their own now ......

If I were gonna get anything new it would be an electric converted Losi 5T .....

Seriously, with the annual daycare bill I could almost turn your sig into my stable. Your post has given me hope for the future . . . albeit a distant future (insert one of those cute little emoticons with a frowny face).

I would have a vacation home in Breckenridge, Colorado and a place in Southern Cali for RC. Audi Q7 to transport stuff and an M3 for fun.

I'm still getting over the fact that forums exist for video games... I though us rc car guys were the biggest nerds. I guess I was wrong...

i'm a simple man, and i have plenty of rc's, so i'd get a nice radio and spend the rest on building tracks.

I thought this was what you would do if you had MONEY.

If I had MONEY I would build a cover over my club's outdoor track so we wouldn't have to cancel when it rained. It would have to be about 150ft by 200ft with no posts in the middle (meaning steel truss roof supports). That's what I would do if I had MONEY.
