Yes, yes, and its a four wheel drive so there are some things (diff set up) to be learned. The shock towers need to be upgraded to the carbon fiber ones. The aluminum ones do bend pretty easily. That being said, i've been bashing a stock one for a year (i bought the roller so the electrics are different) and have only had to bend the shock towers back a few times. I've never messed with the diffs yet. Great truck!

Losi SCTE rocks! I had an rtr and it was good. Now I have a scte with the TLR kit and tekin electronics. Love it, very durable and fast and it can take a beating.

Here's a video of mine running a tekin rx8 wth pro4 motor so you get an idea of the speed and durability.

You should get 10-15 min with a normal 2 cell ($50-$60 )... spend more and get a 7800 ( $80 up) might get you longer run time depending how you drive

Yes it is a good novice /basher truck. You can also slowly upgrade it to make it more competitive.

Default How about 2nd hand sc

Losi scte is a proven platform for sure. But, if you can wait for right time, you can find clean 2nd hand truck with top notch electronics. There are some people sometimes need to sell their scte 2.0s or tekno sct410s with tekin rx8 and pro4 or pro4 hd and with nice servos around 450-600 usd range w/o rx, tx. Even, i saw scte 2.0 with mip buggy conversion and tekin pro4 4600kv combo around 350 usd (w/o rx tx) and it seems to be maintained very well. If u can find one like these, i suggest you to go with those. From buying rtr and upgrading to scte 2.0 and nice electronics will eventually cost you so much more.

Is the SCTE 2.0 the updated version of the Ten SCTE RTR?

Thanks!

Yes, but almost a redesigned truck... not just a few bling aluminum parts added.
Good suggestion murat61.

As far as I can tell, the 2.0 is a kit, not RTR. Is that right? I don't think I'd feel comfortable building a kit yet.

If you take murat6's advice, you don't have to build anything. A used 2.0 (or a better choice for drivetrain durability Tekno) will be built.

But building a kit is the best way to go. The instructions will lead you right through the build and you will know the truck inside and out. You can do it, it is intimidating until you start and see that it's not that complicated.

Sooner or later you will need to tear it down for maintenance or repair so you will be working on it one way or another. If you have built it from the ground up you will have a better idea of its workings and be able to diagnose a problem easier than if you got an rtr or used truck.
