Questions?? New to the car side, What electronics should I get for my losi 1/10 SCTE

I been flying rc heliz for a couple of years, so I'm familiar with rc but not cars.
What ESC and motor and pinion should I get for my 1/10-Scale Short Course Truck it's the LOSB0127. And is this really one of the good ones out there?
I hear tekin is the best what what model exactly?

The tekin RX8 esc and a tekin pro-4 motor is what people are referring to. I don't run those , nor do I know what kv you are going to get, so I can't give you a pinion recommendation.

If you're racing - I recommend the Novak Activ8 - Ballistic 550 4.5T with a 14, 15 and 16 tooth pinion (tune for the track).

They are completely different companies, Lodi tends to be a little bit more expensive, but are a little more directed to racers and people who want more performance. Don't take this the wrong way though. I have an associated b4.1 and it is a great racer! And lastly, no, the motors do not come with a pinion. Its up to you to get that.

Pick up a hobbywing sct pro esc and a tenshock sc411 4600kv motor and a 14 & 15 mod 1 pinion. U will need at least a 60c 6000 lipo as well. I have a nice setup truck in the f/s section too. Take a look

Nitro's on it.
Tenshock 4600. $90 instead of the $130 for a pro4.
The tenshock is a 550 can and the pro4 is a 540 can.
Tenshock 4600 = 4.6HP

the hobbywing esc mentioned has had good reviews, the tekin rx8 is the best of the best... but it should be for $200.

Scte is a great truck. SC10 4x needs money thrown at it to compete with the losi. Losi needs money thrown at it to be durable. Scte is a better choice for outdoor and AE a little better indoor with an experienced pilot behind the wheel IMO.

If you flew heli's you probably know about Hobbyking. Best bang for the buck lipo IMO.

They have new A Spec nano's that are in the China store, but not the US store yet. Get that if you dont mind the extra shipping cost, looks like it will be a fantastic lipo. I think the A Spec's are 6500 65c.

Have fun!

Pick yourself up a Hobbwing SCT pro esc and a 3656 sensored hobbywing motor in 4000kv. The whole combo can be bought from www.falconsekido.com for $213 and it will come with a 15 tooth pinion. Awesome power and reliable and will come with an lcd Programer to easily adjust your esc.

Yes. Hobbyking is a great site. I have plenty batteries already. Thank for every ones help. I think imma go with the tekin pro4 4600 kv and rx8. The hobby shop said they can do 20% off on these. I Hope no one has had bad luck with this set up
But what pinion should I use. Going to be using a 2s 5000mah 40c 80c burst li-pos

32 pitch pinions, not mod1. Close but not the same.

It was mentioned earlier to get a mod1 pinion. Not referring to hobbywing, just pinions in general.

I'm a little lost on the pinion. I thought you just needed (ex.) 13t, or 16t.

No bad luck with that setup, just expensive. As you know from heli's, electronics are electronics and gremlins can pop up no matter what you are running.

Watch for puffing lipo with the weight of the scte and high amp draw of the 4 pole motor.
5000 40c is not enough IMO.

Pinion, ask in the scte forum, not sure. Or maybe someone here with that motor can chime in. 4600kv 4 pole is probably 1 tooth bigger than 4600kv 2 pole if you can find a scte gearing chart.
