Still on the stockers here
Good to see that the talkon ones fit.... I have to say I am a fan of the ARRMA stuff.
Have not even got these buggies out yet for the season.....maybe this weekend

They don't fit without modification, because they are longer than the stock ones.
Had to modify the rear shock tower a bit.

I also glued the stock ball cup with the 4mm hole to the 3,5mm Arrma shock shaft. It works, but it is now impossible to remove the ball cups from the shock shaft...

Mine were leaking as crazy. Tried to seal them, but they still leaked.

Stocks have worked fine for me. Think I've refilled them once over past 3+ years. I've looked at the upgrade aluminum. But just can't justify them.

However they are very very fun to drive...y buddy bought some 8000mah 2s and I am going to try them the next time I get mine out.
I hope for at least 40 mins of run time

What kind of motor temps do you guys see on these stock out of the box? I got one yesterday and after a quick test run the motor was pretty warm. I didn't have my temp gauge with me, so I couldn't check for an actual temp reading, but it felt warmer than it should be after only a few minutes. This was on 4S, 85F outside, on the street, not pushing it by any means.

It was 85 out and the motor is enclosed in the chassis.
They do seem to run a bit hot but you need to temp it and see what it is.
I don't worry till its over 180 then shut it down.
Mine both have been puched to the limits in the summer time with paddles and have never over heated.

Ran mine last night for over 1/2 hr.
8000mah 4s seems to work very well.
temps after the run were 130 at the motor and the speedo was warm.
Running it mostly on the grass and some on the street and its stock including the diff.

Thanks for the information. Hopefully I'll have a chance to run it this weekend. This time I will make sure to bring my temperature gauge. Just wanted to see if a pinion change or some other simple fix might be needed. I have a bunch of mod 1 pinions laying around.

Is the ESC's bec voltage adjustable? I have a HV savox servo I want to put in, but cant figure out if/how I can increase the voltage.

I would say no.
But you may want to google the Orion ESC

It's fixed at 6v. But you could always run a battery direct to the servo if you REALLY want HV. Personally I would sell the Savox and get one of the Xpert low voltage servos. Better bang for your buck imo and they operate at lower voltage with better specs.

I don't think it's worth hassle. Plus I doubt I would save any money if I bought a rival to the 1270tg or 2274sg. BECs are cheap and easy to add, plus now that I run HV on almost all my cars, I prefer it to the standard stuff.
