Looking at the pictures what do you feel would be best? 12T Round Wire, I assume Double? But Triple will give more speed and can change torque with pinion gears, am I on the right path?

Run the gearing appropieate for that track with whatever # of turns. If you feel up to the challenge....from the looks of the pictures....a 12x3 (twelve turn tripple) is going to be hunkie-dorie! But if you're not sure you can handle all that motor, maybe a 14x2/3 or so. The more the turns, the less the speed and you may want to drop a wind to pick up the slack of a SLIGHTLY slower motor.

But, if it were me....I'd run a 12x3 on that track at like 20 or so degrees of foward timing.....then run the suggested gearing and adjust from there.

Oh yeah...round wire would be fine.

Hunkie-dorie or VERY fast? Remember I will be up against brushless systems. The Trinity Cobalt 14T does not come with round wire. I think it sounds like it will be a 12x3 and I will have to LEARN to drive it.

you're still in the straight-line speed mind set!....Lets say they smoke you down the straight...but you own them in the in-field....you'll be dead even at the start of the lap again....right!? In the end it just comes down to driving better than them! A race is won on a lot of factors, but consistancy is a major one of them! With that said, strap on a 12x3 and go racin'!

nwilcox88- think you'll be able to make the moster truck race at shadetree the 30th of next month? They are going to run all classes. That is a very fun track with fairly high speeds. But they'll probably change it from the last time I ran there. Great traction though. If you plan to go let me know, and I'll bring my B4 along with my GT. If you do, make sure to get there early for practice, as the track is laid out in a way which takes a couple runs to get used to seeing from the drivers stand.

I thought it was only for Monster trucks, but knowing they are running all classes I will have to see about going. I will check there site out to get times it starts.

Sounds like a fun time.

Those are both great choices for that track!
