Theyre AE pads for sure. You can see them pads in the 1st pic. Im running 17.5 and AE is the only company (that ive seen) that has a 69t spur. I run my slipper locked anyway. Id like to use the kimbrough spur but not sure what id need to make it work in my Rb6

I have a shiny new Avid 69 tooth spur in my box. OH and a 66 just for good measure

My only real slipper issue occurred with a 13.5. I didn't want it completely locked down but wanted to use an AE or Kimbrough 72 and the slipper plates were riding on the plastic retaining ridge instead of the pad itself, as described above by Brandon. My solution to that was to glue two pads together on each side to get the mating surface beyond the plastic ridge. Apparently AE has some extra thick 4x4 pads that will work, too.

Still, if you're switching between mod/17.5/13.5 all the time and having to go to different spurs that Kyosho doesn't offer, it's worth it to get the Avid system IMO... I'll even use a 72 in mod now that I have the Triad when I want to move the motor farther back (mid).

Not "pads", ... I said "plates"... the metal disks that squeeze the pads. I understand you are running the AE pads, but what we are telling you is that you can't run the AE pads, with the kyosho plates (or disks)

I did the exact same thing.. I glued AE pads together. But ultimately, the AE pads are flat out junk compared to either the Kyosho slipper pads, or the avid slipper pads. Night-and-Day difference.

If you aren't using your slipper why don't you just shed the rotating mass and go to a slipper eliminator and use kimbrough or Robinson spur gears?
