Heh. I had nothing but trouble with the rango balldiff. Probably just user error though

When I had my DEX210, first thing I did was put a B-Fast diff in it (stock diff was horrible, one chirp and it was gone). Never rebuilt it in the whole 5 months I had the car. Very nice kit, for a very sub par rear motor car.

Since the RB6 is about the same wheelbase and length as the RT5 has anyone thought about or tried converting their RT5 to a mid mount configuration using RB6 parts?

Looking to hear from people who have either tried both or have made the switch themselves. Did your laptimes fall and become more consistent?
The RB6 is considerably better than the 210 in all areas of measurement, except for one... and that is the ball diff. The dex210 is the worst car, with absolutely the best ball diff on the 1/10th market. (I would place the kyosho ball diff in a distant second).

Regardless, the RB6 is a better car all around. Just find somebody that has one dialed in to your track, and ask to drive it.

That is an interesting question, does adding the extra gear change it from 2.6?

RT6. Just add aluminum chassis and front end bits..... I love my RT5 just the way it is. If they do work on a new truck I hope they only change the chassis. Everything else is just fine the way it is.

Gear ratio does not change if you add the extra gear. They are the same tooth count, so no ratio change.

I'm not sure, but I don't think so...just wasn't sure.
So the 3 gear tranny is 2.6? What's the formula for that?

Don't get it in the kit form instead order 6 of the thicker 3.5mm version rather than the 3.0mm. http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...-Turnbuckles-4.

Do not go for the longer ones they will not work with the kyosho long ends. You will have to order the shorter ones instead from kyosho for the lazer or something.
Will the rod ends still work the the thicker rods?

I love my RT5 as well and although it works fantastic on dirt it doesn't always work well on Astroturf/carpet tracks. That is why i was looking to try a mid motor configuration like a lot of the guys in europe do. Seems to work well for them. Obviously it will take more than just the chassis and front end parts won't it? What about the 4 gear tranny, etc...?

Wonder why the dropped the RB5 WC vented slipper from the RB6. I know it shares same slipper parts as FS, so cost saving..?

Anyone using vented slipper? Also been mentioned that some are upgrading the motor plate.

I have both the vented slipper, and vented motor plate. Keeps my motor maybe 5 degrees cooler then stock. More for bling factor for me.

It wasn't really designed for mid motor, just like the 22 has mid-motor as an afterthought and the DEX210 is a mid-motor car with rear motor as an afterthought.

Of course it will take more then what I mentioned, but I was talking about a rear motor car. I don't have any tracks near me where it is worth the time investing resources to try and get mid motor working on the 6. Although out of the 3 rear/mid motor cars the Kyosho would probably be the easiest to find a mid motor setup for. Maybe Hot Rod Hobbies on a blue grooved track it would work.

I hear you. I was just curious if it was possible without breaking the bank just because I would like to try it to see how it would handle. By no means am I unhappy with my RT5 it's still an amazing truck! Thanks anyways and sorry for highjacking, back to the RB6 talk!!!
