I run the 3 gear laydown with a 6.5 motor and have so much rear end I typically run 2.5 or even 2 degrees rear toe in and have no issues, that is shocks on the front too.

If you use the RB6 type rear bulkhead to put the shocks on the rear and 3deg rear toe in you can get away with the 3 gear laydown in quite low grip, levels that get the Yokomo and AE guys reaching for the stand up cars.

Wondering why that is. Considering trading my b6 for another 6.6 to run solely in Mod
4 gear in Mod is about motor rotation. 4 gear keeps the rear loaded more under acceleration.

So for the 4 gear lay down the motor goes the other side to the 3 Gear?

Seems to be out of stock everywhere in the US. Ebay is your only choice if you want it right now.

Kyosho America has yet to receive the January shipments from Japan. This will likely be back in stock in the next two weeks.

How does the 6.6 compare out of the box to the B6 and YZ-2 for turf racing? Don't see much discussion on that. I'm going to run mod so cut gears etc aren't a concern.
