Good morning,

I am looking to build my RB6 and RB6.6 for a carpet track. I went on Petite RC to look at some setups and noticed that on one particular build, the person was using Associated shock springs. Do these work interchangeably w/ Kyosho shocks or do some mods need to be made?

Thanks in advance for any advice/guidance.

RF2 is required to go with the plastic MM2 rear mount. The "2" signifies that they are the wider (standard on MM setup) width, RF is the narrower hanger often used with the rear motor setup.

What gear diff oil are you guys running? Weight?

Looking at getting Kyosho Silicone Differential Oil (40cc) (4,000cst) for KYOUMW604 w/ KYOUMW726. Thoughts?

Thanks

Springs, if you have the right size, are interchangeable between brands.

Good to know.

Been looking at various pics of the RB6.6 builds - have a question; which side of the car did you put the spur gear on?

I carefully copied the setup in the manual, have my spur on the right side (looking forward, from rear to front). If you went the other way, why? What advantage, if any, does it offer?

the side its of depends on how many gears you have in it. 3 gear it will be on the passenger side (right), 4 gear it will be on the drivers side (left). you cant to four gear and right side spur for it will spin in reverse, same applies to 3 gear.

I built mine 3-gear - thanks for the info

/note: I have an older Trackstar 17.5t motor/80a ESC combo in the car and I could not properly pair the ESC until the radio (Futaba 3PLS) was set to REV TH & ST

Default RB6.6 waterfall nub removal

Building my 6.6 right now and a fellow Kyosho driver gave me his setup for our local track. His comment area states that the nubs are removed from the waterfall. Question is where are these "nubs" thanks

First - I'm setup for 3-gear mid-ship; if that's what you're doing, then we might be on the same page.

Looking at my "waterfall", I see 3 connection points. There are the posts that mount to the chassis; there's the connection to the tranny; finally, the two points for the battery strap's rear catch plate.

I don't see anything on the part that I would describe as a nub or nubs. I guess he could be referring to flashing?

I'm doing the laydown transmission. I could shoot him a text but I don't want to bother him at work.

Laydown arraignment uses the same waterfall part. Maybe somebody else knows what the nubs are.

Thanks for reply. This has the standard RF plastic mount and then some aluminum mount on rear with MM/RR2 on. Unsure of brand, pic of logo below.
So, pretty much I should switch the RF to RF2?

That is made by Revolution Design. I've only seen them sold as a kit. Part # RDRP0212.

Thanks, wasn't sure who made them.
The RF2 aluminum one is in with spare parts but the standard RF plastic one is on the kit.
