Compared against both standard & modified for sideways lipo.

RB6.6 chassis isn't flat, still has a small lip @ edges.

It is where the flex is generated that has made the difference. Now the flex occurs just about under the laydown layshaft so helps with rear traction without numbing the front

So I need a new 2wd buggy since my b5m is showing age. One track near me is going carpet, another dirt so i need to be ready for multiple surfaces. I could have went with a b6, but I just have little interest. I am going to be picking up a rb6.6 . . .

Anyway, I am not sure what 'upgrades' i'll need to begin with, and not sure what transmission I will start with. That said are there any alum goodies I should plan on right out of the gate?

will be running this in 17.5 since there is hardly a mod class (because they are within .5 sec of each other it's starting to not matter but that's another thread).

thanks!

I know how this story will go. We have the same thing except people still run mod so they can't be accused of cheating

I've heard good things about this setup at OCRC. Tebo's OCRC setup is here too.

Thx - but tebo' setup is listed as the mid motor reedy race setup from January. Was Lookin for a laydown setup from his surfcity outing. Think the other is mid motor too. Is it me or do the setup sheets not distinguish shock placement...

Most of Jared's setups are here: https://jtprc.com/setups/

He didn't post his Surf City setups tho, just a race write up.

I run a variation of his HRS setup which is Laydown, albeit I run 3gear and Ball Diff.

correct, there is currently no place on the sheet to mark shock placement. Typically I've seen it marked in the notes. Not always in the same place unfortunately.

Also, I believe his surf city setup was discussed but maybe not posted to his facebook page as a race report.

Looks like at least at the time of this picture he ran shocks on front of arms:

Completely possible except laydown would need the new chassis or holes drilled in your existing chassis. I updated one of mine to just the new rear bulkhead and the factory 3 gear and was all it needed. Some like the new chassis but that's your call. Info and parts needed are here.

I bought a used rb6 and converted it to the 6.6 with the new chassis and lay down. I don't believe there's anything exotic on it although I'm unsure of the camber links. Fully loaded with a 4.6 turnigy shorty it was about 1480

Seems like they are still using the RB6 setup sheet and haven't gotten to a 6.6 specific setup sheet yet...that could be the reason?
