I am wondering if any of you on the RB6 thread can help me out.
Looking to get back to racing after a long time away. I have seen a few deals on a used RB6 and I'm wondering with the minor adjustments the 6.6 introduced, is the 6.6 worth the extra investment?

The B6d was initially what I thought I would be getting, but the Japanese design and manufacturing are pushing me towards an RB6 or RB6.6.

Surely the Kyosho guys won't tell me to buy Associated, or maybe they will?

I'd love to hear what you have to say.

PS. I am going to visit my local track soon (TRCR - Washington), if they don't offer much support for the RB6, then unfortunately the contest is over...

The car is only a minor upgrade in the grand scheme. It fixes some needed items, however I think buying the used RB6 and adding the 6.6 parts is smarter. I have the 6.6 and 2 2015 cars, and besides the chassis and side pods everything else is the same at its base. The laydown tranny does require two extra holes that the previous chassis' don't have but if you aren't planning to run laydown, grab the new rear bulkhead and the 3 gear box and you're set. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks. Found them. Also found some negative feedback. Their FB page has been dead for a while. I'll see if they answer an email.

Okay just built an rb6.6 with laydown transmission. Running on a medium sized indoor track that flows well. I'm using a orion 10.1 vortex and orion lw pro stock 10.5 Any Ideas on a starting point for gearing. I've been running kyosho for awhile now so I have quite a selection of spurs and plenty of pinions just don't know where to begin. Gearing always baffles me as to where to start.

I'll say 24-25 with 76 spur.

Thank you. I think I might do that.

Is the playing field pretty level between Kyosho and Associated right now? For some reason I get the impression that the 6.6 is more or less what you want out of the box and can be tuned to perfection; yet Associated drivers are modding their cars to the hilt to get them how they like... Am I totally off here?

Hey guys, Is there a separate part number for the plastic suspension inserts for the rear front hanger? Need to just buy the inserts.

Have been googling it but can only find the hanger and insert combined;

I want to start by saying that the AE B6 kit is a nice car. However I don't think the playing field is level for a few reasons, and yes I'm partial to kyosho on this comparison but I was an AE driver not long ago and switched around the time of the B5M Lite car. The plastics and fit and finish of the Kyosho products are second to none. It's just meant to go together and I think this kind of attention to detail is somewhat lacking from kit to kit with Associated. They are much better with QA issues than they were but it's still an issue i.e. The bendy b5m chassis and b44.3 gear dif debacle.

Second and this is big to me, AE makes two cars where Kyo makes all of it available in one kit. Tuning and configurations like crazy.
I personally believe you can push the RB6 a lot harder and still keep it smooth, the car is just planted and fast with the box setup. I found immediately that to my style it was very forgiving allowed me to win more often and increased my lap times and competitiveness on the track.

Food for thought.

Thanks a bunch! That just enforces what I was starting to think anyway. Glad to hear it!
