I usually rebuild after a few months, depends on how often I'm at the track. My methodology is such that I check to see how much stiction is created by the shaft and seal set. I do this by removing the oil and just checking by hand how easily you can move the shaft. I also make sure that both sides are equal and also front to rear.

Stiction can make your shocks feel like you are running 40 wt when you only run 20wt.

Hope that helps!

I'm going to have to put in some fresh seals so I can feel the difference. They've always felt silky smooth to me but I have have never felt brand new ones.

Where is the extra length of a 3 line axle? Inboard of the hex drive pin or outboard?

inboard by 4mm i believe they have a 4mm collar that is run on it in the buggies or u can run 2 2 mm collars to change wheel base and so on it could be 3mm but i think its 4

Ah haaa.
So to run standard rear width you have to send the drive shaft deeper into the outdrive and move the CVD indoard.

Does the position of the CVD effect performance ?

The Avid axles have the extra width outboard. If there is such a thing as wider hexes you could adjust rear width just by swapping hexes.

If you are, or know, a machinist, Durango 2mm CVD rebuild kit is a perfect replacement. Just got to turn the O.D. of the barrel.

the 3 line axles are 2 mm longer. you can increase the length on either side of the hub with spacers. They are usually paired with the 62.5mm dog bones whereas the 2 line axles are usually paired with the 65.5 mm dog bones.

I have made a 3 gear laydown box for the RB6. I didnt find a DIY/project part of the forum so i didnt know where to put it

This is for a custom motor plate, I have modified it to fit a Yokomo Plate aswell.

no they do not. kyosho does not make a 3 gear for the rb6, you have to make one yourself using a rear motor transmission case.

if you want to make one petit rc has a good tutorial on how to do it

I think the only real difference is the new rear arms and different shock springs. Other than that its the same.
