So I had my first race two weekends ago and I'm just now getting back on here. I placed 3rd with my SC6 and 33 of 38 in 2wd buggy with my RB6. My car seemed a bit slower than the rest and I'm running an old Orion VST 9.5t bought on this forum. Are most of you guys running 8.5t? And also without getting into much detail what can I do to keep the rear ended planted if turning off power at the end of the main straight. I never spun all the way out but boy she was loose when I had to get off the throttle. All I did was turn my drag brake to 0% as I was afraid that was causing my issues but it didn't change a thing. It was my first off road race ever so I sure as hell cant write off my lack of driving skills. Any basic tuning I can try to keep her planted off throttle? Or any driving advice even?

Where is your battery?
My son and I are both pretty new drivers and getting weight to the back really helped us. His car still has the speed control on a shelf in front of the waterfall and I think it handles great! I moved my battery under the waterfall then tried sideways battery all the way back. As my driving gets better I'm slowly moving weight forward for more steering.

I am running a shorty, standard configuration, with the factory battery mounts moved as far back as possible and no foam just a perfect fitting battery. I have my receiver mounted on the shelf/rear battery holder. I have my esc on the chassis in front of the battery and behind the servo. I feel like I can handle the steering, and overall the buggy feels and handles great, just having that issue with top speed straightaway to sweeper corner braking/turning. Also would adjusting my differential help with this problem?

Let me apologize in advance but I've been on a bit of hiatus. I've seen the new chassis in pics and you can see the extra holes and the new side rails to allow the sideways battery configuration. What I can't tell is if Kyosho is making that area of the chassis flat or is Kyosho just giving foam with the chassis for the battery to sit on? From the underneath pics you can still see there is a heavy edge on the chassis.

There is no kit option for sideways battery. Even with the newest lightweight chassis (what I have), you still have to grind the chassis down and cut the plastic side rails. If you don't grind the chassis, you will have your battery up a little higher with no support underneath and you'll have to use spacers to raise up your battery strap a bit.

Try taking away some ackermann, place spacers under your steering rack ballstuds. Go .5 or 1mm and see if it works for you.

Loosening the diff a tiny bit can free up the buggy and give a little more turn in.

Why does this car seem to work better with only 25deg of kick/caster? TLR/AE, all run 30deg total kick/caster.

Curious what other's have found.

Interesting ride height....

I personally like 29 degrees or when I get it wrong, 21.

It is all about driving style, but you already know that.

Could this be a three gear transmission with the motor rotation reversed in the speed control? I am used to seeing the spur gear on the other side.

I think the flat chassis is most likely the sideways shorty chassis.

Well then it should say "hacked up and ground on old chassis" and not new flat chassis....

It is a new chassis but not yet available to the public.
