Good day gents, just throwing another discussion onto this thread, as the 1/10 offroad buggy worlds happening in Oct 2015, will you guys think?
----------------
1. A new buggy to release from kyosho since yokomo has justt released one for high traction carpet/astro?

2. will the exisiting RB6 be somewhat re-engineered to meet the Astroturf at Yatabe?

Gents...just a discussion..pls dun take it out of context as Astro vs Dirt as we have another thread for that..

cheers!!

I don't think a new buggy but maybe new option parts at the most, Kyosho doesn't change stuff to often... And when the do its small things...

Agree with you...but the RB6 is already a very versatile buggy on its own, have been running mine for both Astro and loose traction on MM platform and she handles it with flair.

wonder what upgrade parts will be made for the RB6 for the upcoming worlds or Kyosho will just leave without and upgraded parts for her..

On a side note, World Champion TC Narto has left Yokomo..wonder will he join kyosho?

I just replaced my gearbox, bearings, top shaft and pinion. I made sure everything was super free in the gearbox and that my slipper was set so that it barely raised the front wheels.

Right now I'm debating whether it is spur gear #8 or b5m #1
Are you guys setting your slipper properly? Only time I ever have issues with spur gears is when the motor has come slightly loose and thats on any of my cars, regardless of pitch or type/make.

When you say traction, do you mean forward? I found plenty of traction in RM. Actually lacked some steering ...

Gents, another quick question,
MIP C-CVD Kit (RB5/RB6)
[MIP12141]
When installing this on the Rb6, can we use TLR wheels?

i am on the Avid ones now but somehow or rather, i need a replacement set and avid a/o amains does not have the avid in stocks, the Avid CVD kit i am able to run all my old TLR wheels instead of the kyosho rear wheels.

Please advice if the MIP can do the same.

CHeers!

It would be nice to see a 3 year transmission or a lay down transmission conversion (similar to YZ-2) for the car for the astro tracks

I wonder if anyone will get clever and 3d print a proto gearbox up?

In the UK quite a few of the kyosho drivers use the Rude Bits DB2 conversion which is a RB6 front end and a ZX5 rear end for the astro tracks

The MIP axles are long enough to use any aftermarket wheels with the standard locking nuts.

Also Durango makes a low profile serrated nut that will work with non KYO wheels on stock axles. I have been using them for the past month without issue.

As far as my spur gear issue. It appears the failures are related to the motor slipping out of position. I have sanded the motor plate in the mounting area with a 120grit sand paper to give the mounting bolts more friction to hold onto. So far it seems to be helping.

I am spinning out in the corners. seems the rear end just spins out and the front stays planted.

Isn't Sanwa working on a ESC+Rx combo? Not really useful but so cool
