RB5 plastic or RB6 alum shock cap should not come loose. I would check the o-ring seating and maybe apply a little green slime.

If you're using Kyosho RTRs throw them out.

Soliciting opinions for stock 17.5 spur gear setup:
1) Use the slipper clutch
Pros: extended gearbox life, better traction, smoother feel
Cons: less responsive, car feels "slower"

2) Lock the slipper down/spur gear hub
Pros: less rotating mass (hub), responsive throttle
Cons: stresses gearbox components, abrupt throttle input

I've locked mine down for the last year but a local pro suggested I let the slipper do it's job (actually set it to slip). Buggy feels smoother but not quite as fast...probably due to the decreased throttle response. How do you have yours set up?

It tells you something when I see quite a few other brands of buggies running kyosho shocks, make the investment its worth it, plus you can take them with you if you change buggies later. You can usually find a used set here and there

Didn't meant to sound mean I have the ZX-5 RTR and throwing out the shocks was the best thing I did to it.

The RTR plastic shock bodies may be and subject to damage/deformation too.

Cheers,

Tebo says it makes the steering less twitchy and takes some of the mid corner push out is what I read

I see Kyosho has or will be releasing a 69 tooth 48 pitch spur gear, UM730-69. No idea if it will be imported here into the U.S.

Mog ruith- By far the best way to upgrade an RTR RB6 is to find a clean RB5 WC for cheap and use the shocks, diff and other trinkets. You'll also be stocked with spare hinge pins and hardware.

Eric I was thinking of doing that too. Guys if I want to change to mid motor configuration and still use a full size stick Lipo do I need to use a low profile servo or will the standard size servo be fine?

It fits with a full size servo but leaves zero room for the esc, if the esc your using is low profile it'll fit on the shelf, if not there isn't to many options

I start running Full size pack on my Mid motor... I cut a carbon Fiber to make a plate so the ESC sits on top..

Alright guys tell me what I'm getting into, just bought an RB6, I've only driven AE cars. Is the steering as fast? What about traction? I know the shock package is out of this world. I was really excited about the B5 but the two chassis thing really turned me off so I decided to make the switch. Really excited to get some wheel time with my Kyosho.
