I would pick up a cheap set of alloy caps for them.

By the way i will give you guys an update on when this shocks will last.
I heard their kit shocks are the best out there, but will see how this ready set last

What's a good spur and pinion set for 17.5 short indoor clay track right now I'm running 76 29 doesn't seem to be working that well on the straight.

Yes please do let us know, I had bad luck with my 5yo sons sct ready set shocks, which I've upgraded. Now he is really wanting a buggy so was thinking the ready set rb6 but absolutely did not want to have to buy another set of big bores right away.

For stock most go to a 69 tooth spur. For my local track 100x50 most end up running in the 33/69 range.

How much timing and what temps are you seeing, im running 30\76 with maxed endbell timing and have no problem keeping up with anyone on our straight and I'm pulling off at 145

Low temp around 110 and about 25 on endball. I was thinking of trying 30 on pinion.

In my personal experience most 17.5s in 2wd buggy need full timing to come alive. My d3.5 was geared 28/76 with full timing and I was out motoring most people down the straight on a medium sized outdoor track

I ran a 17.5 in my 6. Didn't care for it. Put in an 8.5 with an avid slipper and topshaft, 22/76 gearing, and it seems to have made it more stable. It's almost like this buggy was designed to be easier to drive the faster it goes. I dunno, hard to explain.

That's still very high on gearing for a 17.5, most run 30-33/69.
